How did he get in? I understood Japan's immigration policies were quite strict. Is that not so? I certainly know in Europe and North America, you can't just waltz into a country because you think it would be fun to live there. An immigrant (as opposed to a refugee) has to have a desirable job skill or be marrying a local or going to school. I'd be surprised if Japan's rules are more lax.

He may not be a citizen and just be on a visa. Japan very rarely accepts requests for citizenship unless the person marries a Japanese citizen and gives up their native name.

Oh, I seriously doubt he's a citizen. Just getting a work visa in any civilized Western country is very, very hard these days. You have to prove you have skills that aren't shared by a willing native. I'd be shocked if Japan was more easygoing; they have the opposite reputation.

Right. I can't imagine an English-speaking freelance RPG writer being that big of a boon compared to, say, a nuclear engineer fluent in Japanese with a wife and two kids.

He's white and American I believe so easier for him to get into Japan than a Muslim. Also I don't think Tomomi Inada was in the government when he went there so he had an easier time getting into the country.

Japan will allow Americans into their country for certain jobs like teaching English or labour, or marrying a Japanese citizen.

His wife has apparently helped him with some of his game design so I doubt she has any skills worth mentioning too. My guess one of them is doing a teaching gig and the other is living with them as a dependent.

They could also just be lying about living in Japan too. After all, he knows shit about the language and culture.

That was a fun night because fucking everyone was shitting on him, despite the fact that nobody even knew who the fuck he was (That's how you know your tweet is really fucking stupid.). The best part was when he made up a fake Japanese neighbor to try and prove there was someone who actually agreed with him and then had her speak Engrish (Because the only way to fight things that aren't actually racist (ie, 'waifu') is with actual racism.).

Then he claimed people were sending him rape threats, (despite there being no evidence of it) because why not?
