Diary Of A Wimpy Kid - A series about a middle school antihero

my nieces (9 and 5) watch the movies and i like them. theyre pretty wholeosme and untouched by any woke faggotry
It's probably, ironically, because diary of a wimpy kid is meant to be anything but aspirational. They're all awful festering asshole people and you shouldn't want to be like any of them; avoiding wokeshite just saves the inevitable idiocy when people start claiming that the gay/trans person should somehow be the one saint in the Heffley family.

I remember reading the original book on Funbrain, years before it was released. The Funbrain version was a bit darker and ends with Greg going to military school.

I read all of the books, and DOAWK feels old and tired now. You have books reusing the same plots, characters doing things that seems absurd or impossible, the status quo being reestablished after the it appears that the series is making some changes. And oh yeah, the characters haven’t aged at all.

The newer books have been criticized for these things, as well as for becoming the author’s soapbox on changing technology and climate change. A lot of people wish that they would end. Which is ironic, because the earlier books criticized media for going on well past its peak.

Yeah, it's obvious that Jeff Kinney is strongly opposed to children using technology. The audience isn't smart enough to catch on that a grown man is making fun of them.
