Disappearing Objects Phenomenon - Weird stuff that shouldn't happen and yet it does.

Consider this: the coin hit your shoe/whatever in the right angle to go with enough force and then roll to other room. It may have gone below the furniture, it may have been trapped between or inside a hole, or between the tiles of your floor if they are for some reason deep. The flopping sound does not mean it didn't bounce, or that you on accident kicked it elsewhere (like a noob).

It may also be dementia.

this post faker than WMDs in Iraq what are you even talking about if it fell somewhere then why didnt it make a sound and why does it always show up where I already looked this makes no sense

How?!

@REGENDarySumanai
I have heard they are often outside (no idea how they are able to escape it) the drum. But you would need to completely dismantle your washing machine to find them.
If the rubber seal around the door is brittle and worn and the dampers of the drum and bearings too, the socks might escape through a gap into the space between drums, or outside entirely. The outer stationary drum isn't connected to the chassis because of vibrations and the door seal also works as a bushing between these two, at least it seems from images I looked up. I guess such sock-eating machine leaks anyway and is near the end of its lifetime.

Maybe it fell and then rolled to another place?

I've had a number of beloved books disappear from my house when I was a kid. Just stuff like Sonic comic books or books about cars. My parents wouldn't have thrown them away and I was a weird kid who hardly ever had friends over, and my friends didn't steal anyway.

Still baffles me.

It's always the blue men.

This is the type of stuff that really makes you question the integrity of your mind/reality.

I lost a throwing knife outdoors years ago. I threw it against a tree standing on a fairly tidy lawn. The sun was in my eyes, but I heard the CLEAR noice of the knife bouncing of the tree and then hitting the grass directly below.

Gone. I searched for it way longer and more carefully than it's value warranted, out of pure disbelief. I went so far as to carefully rake the lawn around the tree several times. Nothing.

I swear I still look for it every now and then. Fucking gnomeniggers.

I lost a tube of gouache under my desk once and had to tear up a whole corner of my studio trying to find it. I've since emptied, repainted, and reorganized the room and never found the loose tube- that is until I was packing up an Ebay order recently and there was a damn tube of black gouache in the cardboard box. I used to store my sale items in boxes under my desk and it must have fallen in.

I'm still tripped out by a creepy rock disappearing from my room when I was a little kid- my friend and I found a weird shaped rock with a series of dark splotches that made it look like the face of a grey alien. It was under the steps of an outdoor stairway and out of reach for our short arms so we spent a good 10 minutes trying to reach it with sticks. When we finally got it, I took it home and put it on my nightstand. Next day? Rock was GONE. Most likely it just got knocked off and landed in a sea of Barbies since young Reldnahc wasn't known for tidiness.

My sister is terrified of spiders. When we were kids, if our parents were busy, she would ask me to deal with them. One evening, she called me into her room because a spider was on the ceiling. I was 12, there was no way I was going to shoryuken a moving ceiling spider. So, we sat on her bed, waiting for it to reach the edge of the wall and climb down. A few minutes passed. We never took our eyes off it. And then it was gone, disappeared into thin air. She didn’t sleep in her room that night.

I used to lose things like pencils, pens and erasers all the time like this. They'd fall off the table, never to be seen again.. Even if I looked immediately after they fell.
