I assumed this was a side-effect of adapting the original stories into audiobook format. The double-length probably comes from all that damn narration they added to the reading. (Each story went from about 1 hour to 2, goddamn).A final side note- I finally got Jago and Litefoot Series 14 tonight, but it's fucking long (they turned it into a 4 part audio book like I said). It looks like more than 10 hours long in total. I might say what I thought about it in a few days when I've listened to the whole thing.
1. Tell that to James Dreyfuss(This is technically a separate point, but I think they're connected.)
I hate to be as cynical as I am, but while the "wokeness" of current day Doctor Who doesn't really seem to have polluted Big Finish to the extent it has in the show proper, I do find myself wondering how much of that is their contractual inability to pull from "NuWho" up to a certain point, which seems to be on a sliding scale.
2. They bitched out and delayed The Lovecraft Invasion because of some black people riots that were nowhere near them
That wouldn't necessarily be out of place in Big Finish, depending on how they do it. Think Doctor Who Unbound; the David Warner Doctor from 2 of those stories became a regular in the New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield.I don't actually know how long that is, but I could see them making a "Doctor Ruth" series at some point when they get the rights... and if they do that, I will probably abandon Big Finish like I've abandoned the show.
The real point of no return would be them getting Jenna Coleman and Maisie Williams together for an ongoing range. Like how they did the Charlotte Pollard thing but they keep sinking money into it and dumbasses simp for it (think Star Wars).
They're gonna recast his ass like they did with Matt Smith-- the Eleventh Doctor Chronicles Volume 2 is full-cast and the Doctor is played by that fucker they got to mimic him and David Tennant: Jacob Dudman. No other NuWho Doctor has a "volume 2" for that range.I'm hoping that we'll at least get some good Twelfth Doctor stories from them before then as Peter Capaldi was let down by the scripts he had to work with in the show proper.
