In
Project: Altered Beast, you play as an amnesiac soldier who's lost his memories, stuck in a town covered in a mysterious fog that's turning everyone into monsters. The soldier, named Luke Custer, quickly discovers that he has the ability to transform into a werewolf; what's more, by defeating certain enemies and stealing data chips that contain certain DNA strains, he can transform into other forms such as an avian, merman, minotaur, etc. Using these different forms, all of which having different abilities and specializations, Luke gradually travels around the fog-covered area, uncovering secrets and learning what, exactly, really happened.
Basically, in order to properly explore the world and fight the various monsters, you need to swap between different forms with different abilities, such as the avian form that allows you to fly or the merman that allows you to swim. However, you also need to be mindful of your Energy meter; you transform into a monster, the meter will start draining, and if you stay in said form for too long you'll start taking health damage until you switch back to your human form - as a human, it's easier to build up the meter by draining Energy from monsters, with the various monster forms being more designed for dealing damage and/or utility.
Essentially, what I was thinking for a "proper" Changed game would instead be to focus on the story/mystery aspect to it; have Lin explore the labs and learn about what happened, what the monsters are, why the world ended, etc. The transformation aspect could instead be designed for exploration/combat; have the protagonist acquire and use different forms for solving puzzles (i.e., gargoyle for super strength, shark for swimming) and for defending himself from the various monsters that're trying to kill him. He could acquire new forms/abilities by beating certain boss monsters, and then use the abilities gained to explore more of the lab, gradually opening everything up Metroidvania-style.
I dunno, just something other than the creepy "rape a child" scenario that we got force-fed.
Pretty sure the only reason why it's not banned is because the rape/transformations are mostly done in the Game Overs, giving the furfags the excuse of "it's supposed to be something you avoid".
