I hope there is a solution. I am wasting a post in this thread just to comment that I have realized KF is really the place for free speech. I spend a lot of my downtime at work on the site and even in my off time when my favourite lolcows are acting up. If KF goes down for good, where will the farmers flock to? I would probably feel like I "lost" my community if the site goes down.

Not to mention that we'd be pretty hard-pressed to try to find a similar community with leadership like Null, who will sink so much effort and moneys into trying to make it work out and avoid shutdown. Stuff like this makes me wonder if we should be moonlighting as a movement for internet freedoms and telecomms deconsolidation. At least, if said movement doesn't immediately descend into cringeworthy grifting and fruitless sperging, like most movements tend to do.

The centralization of domain name resolution, hosting, and payment systems are pretty much the main reasons why Silicon Valley and the banking industry were able to consolidate so much power in the first place.
