A big pet peeve of mine is that he soured people on that 80s car style he missed his shot at.
DeLoreans and those mercs and porsches (and that one rare beamer) were always dividing people, but I always liked them.
Now he ruined it for everyone.

Feels for all the rad designs which now get thrown out, because some guy at the committee inevitably goes:
"Uhm, that looks like one of those tesla trucks, are we sure?"

DeLorean also had the correct persona to brand his shitboxes.
Was a legit car design legend before that and just did too much hookers and blow.
He did kinda invent the tesa "way" of doing things tho:
He build that fab on the isles with gubbmint gibs and broken promises and under-delivered.

It was just a different time, grifts like his at least ended with a bang, but now...

Say what you want about John DeLorean but his cars at least didn't have parts flying off due to poor build quality.

The Cybertruck is a dangerous piece of shit by every metric. There used to be one by me but I haven't seen it lately, probably the owner failed to duct tape the panels and one of them was ripped off and landed in the woods somewhere.

Yeah he build the actual chassis out of friggin stainless, not just paneled plastics.
And he knew he had to put it on a frame to do that.
That's why it was so incredibly shit.

Absolute engineer chad, he just didn't want to compromise, but that peugeot engine was all they could put in.
It would've been the perfect concept for an electric drive train, just NO range.
Elon could've done just that as a one off rare collectors item - the company isn't turning a profit anyhow - could've at least done something in-jokey like that.

I genuinely don't know why Tesla's shitty EVs are even allowed on the road, each one is an incendiary deathtrap on wheels. I mean I know the reason but still...

What really sours me is the wasted talent they have working on these, even cybertrucks are pretty cool if you look at that ultra light weight plastic and aluminium construction - sure, that on it's own is kinda death-trappy, but it's efficient and modern. I looked into the panel thing and it seems that it's mostly a Q.C. issue. There are studs and bolts missing which should've been there by design - like those breaking linkages on the other limousine models - absolute shitshow.
Even without knowing about elon, you'd be pressed to think that someone who doesn't know shit, is fucking with the designs last minute and running the lines like a chink sweatshop.

I watched a YT video from a guy who bought a cyber truck (and bought Teslas before). In this guy's opinion, Musk cheaped out and is charging a premium price.

Also, it looks like it's made out of Legos.

I have to wonder how many Tesla employees thought the design was a joke when crypto-hitler first pushed it. I wonder how many of those same employees were fired when Musk got wind of their opinions on it.

The DeLorean is an icon from a beloved film series that has been deemed “culturally significant“ to the U.S.

Tesla cars are shitheaps that are difficult to source parts from outside of the manufacturer that probably won’t be around in 15 years.
