What is everyone’s play style? Are you a level grinder or do you play for fun only? Solo rat? Solo chad? What’s your preference for group size? Favorite maps? Favorite guns?

I suck at the game, so I'm still somewhat of a timid bitch when it comes to encountering anything including AI Scavs, but this new recoil encourages me to play a lot more aggressively. I usually sit and listen if I hear people walking around then try to act on it when I feel like I'm ready to strike. I guess this playstyle is because I pretty much purely play solo, but I've gotten some friends into the game but other factors won't allow us to play together sadly. Along with the new recoil, I can now properly enjoy the 5.45 AKs, as they've been my favorite type of rifle for immersion/role play reasons and because I just like the look of 'em. Along with immersion I think Ground Zero has to be my favorite map now, especially with the snow. I've never thought that being in a modern city would change the feel of the game, it's an excellently designed map that feels distinct from the others.

That’ll be good in the long run, as far as getting better goes. I know a guy with 9k hours that’s worse at the game than I am, and I’m guessing he never played solo. I spent like a thousand hours running reserve solo when I first started and I credit that for a lot of my growth in the game.

Great taste, fren. In my first wipes, AK-74N was my main weapon. This early wipe I’ve been running the UB that you can buy with the PBS suppressor, the recoil feels perfect.

New Shoreline map is great, but the 2nd UAV has moved which is causing issues. Still just kinda grinding night time factory, because that shit is BUSSIN
I've been rolling with a 5 stack, but I definitely prefer to play solo/duo.

This wipe has been leagues better than my last wipe. I really only started my wipe yesterday because I was waiting for my duo to get back from a trip. I'm level 12 at the moment with a 65%~ SR. Last wipe my survival rate was around 35%, so I feel like this wipe has been treating me leagues better than the last one. Really tired of the fucking pocket watch mission I've died 3 times trying to do it.

I’m the worst kind of ‘good’ player, I have a positive k/d and almost always top frag, til I run into an actual TTV sweatlord with a VAL with sp-6 and get my shit clapped. Then I cope and seethe.

Sadly, in arena, you’re kinda stuck with your first choice of tree if you’ve won a decent amount. If I try to switch out of CQB, my team will get demolished by Altyns. But if the opposing team has an sp-6 VAL, I just drop my Altyn at round start lol.

While I’m glad you have a place to discuss it, I couldn’t imagine playing SPT. I need to know that someone, somewhere is rubbing his head like BossmanJack after I rolled him on his third attempt at Golden Swag. It’s 90% of my enjoyment being a bully.

SPT is weird with the community, the reason why people just don't like it is because BSG is out right hostile towards it, if you say that you play SPT in places that BSG can track your account down, they'll probably ban you from the game entirely. But at the same time, the community that exclusively plays SPT have some kind of superiority complex of "Yeah, you have fun with your CHEATERS and DYING, heh, I'm gonna ENJOY my game WITHOUT CHEATERS." or the retarded mantra of "BSG doesn't like it because we can make a better game than them, hah!" I tried SPT out for myself, and while I can see the appeal of it, it's just not for me. Realizing that I'm basically just playing against retarded AI and the feeling of progress is wildly stripped down for me because of the lack of a feeling of an arms race against the other actual players out there, I uninstalled it after playing it like once or twice. After 0.14, I have no reason to go back to it for now.

Also, just as an observation, I get a similar feeling from SPT that I get from something like STALKER Anomaly, where people will just recommend it over the original game(s) because of various reasons, which creates a bit of friction in the communities for the games.

I was playing it in tandem with SPT when the cheater problem was really bad.
Also, I feel like it was exacerbated by that G0AT video on the cheaters. I really fell for that dude's lies, hook line and sinker. Glad it came out how much of a fuck that dude is.
Tarkov is fun for me because of the social element as well. My duo partner and I have been playing together for years now. We're so in sync we start/stop running at the exact same time, don't have to talk about where to go, totally in sync. We even have a swap out system for fighting PMC's that lets us wipe PMC groups.

Half of my fun from this wipe is that race to max traders with my friend. Motivating, to say the least. Can't do that in SPT.

Used to be a huge level grinder back in previous wipes, but other projects and schooling has slowed things down. When I play solo I tend to play as a rat, with a group it depends on what they're doing but I tend to play more cautiously. Weapon-wise I like to use the 7.62 AKs, they have excellent modding potential and the ammo for them is pretty decent.

I'm really liking this wipe; the new recoil and the extra mechanics are pretty solid, and I feel like I can hold my own against enemy PMCs. The only gripe I have is that load times are long, but that might be internet or server issues.

I always go BEAR. The Russian voicelines sound way more intimidating than USEC lines, and I've successfully convinced scavs that I'm a scav by hitting the BEAR lines once or twice. Plus, the Contractor T-Shirt looks sick.

I alternate between USEC and BEAR. Since I was USEC in the previous wipe, this time I'm a BEAR. That said, I do hope they eventually add in those faction-specific skills so there is a mechanical difference between the factions.

Holy shit! I was keeping streams on for like 2 days, but then my PC crashed and I got worried I was putting too much stress on it. Any chance you could explain how I set this up? I'm borderline retarded with computers. I clicked the green 'Code' thing at the top and downloaded as ZIP, but there was no .exe in it.

After you unzip it, think you need to double-click the "setup_env" batch file to get it to sort out all the python bits, then double-click the "run_dev" batch file. That should bring up the GUI and let you login and change settings and all of that.
