Gave it a go, it's fun but Tarkov blows it out of the water when it comes to gun modification. Healing in GAMMA also felt janky the last time I played it.

I quit once I realized how many speedhackers just zoomed through the map or vacuum hacked the valuable items out of any container. You don't even need to be one tapped to play a losing game. I had so many absolutely quiet lobbies with no loot at all left on the map, and the few non-hacking players I met were just camping task objectives or extracts to really hammer the point home that you are playing an absolutely pointless waste of time.

Dropping by to mention StayInTarkov, it's SPT with limited mod support (all of the important ones like SAIN and the bot spawn mods work) that you can play with your friends by hosting your own server. Do be sure to download and keep the latest copy in case BSG decides to kill it because of their new shitty co-op mode.

It uses Tarkov files naturally. SP Tarkov says you shouldn't pirate it but you probably can do regardless and experience better Tarkov experience without 5000h sweats and/or cheaters.

Once when SPT was behind a wipe or 2 before they had the downgrade tool I acquired the version of tark I was looking for off skidrow and it worked fine.

SPT is fun once in a while, Ive been having fun with it on the current wipe but without the pvp it's really missing the intensity of live tarkov. Live tarkov I usually die 50% of raids, SPT it's maybe 10% unless I mod the bots. Stalker Gamma is also good, I haven't got far in it yet but it definitely seems promising so far.

GAMMA is just turning STALKER into Tarkov. Actually, calling it STALKER is a misunderstanding. The lineage goes something like this:

GSC Trilogy > Call of Chernobyl & MISERY > Call of Misery > Last Day > Anomaly > GAMMA

CoC(k) killed off the soul of GSC's handcrafted world and MISERY killed off the gameplay idea turning it into a tedious shitfest. CoM combined those together for a gigantic turd, Last Day iterated on it, Anomaly ported it to a better engine and GAMMA was a result of a French faggot deciding that STALKER wasn't ruined enough so he turned it into a 100GB overbloated mess that doesn't deserve to have "STALKER" in it's name.

The worst part about GAMMA is that this faggot, OperatorDrewski, shilled Grok's bullshit Discord exclusive modpack to the point where the STALKER community got invaded by tourists that don't know what STALKER is and want everything STALKER related to be just like GAMMA, or even worse, demand that there's no mutants or anomalies because they're "out of place". No, STALKER is not a fucking tacticool shooter where you LARP as an operator, if you want that, go play Tarkov, and fuck off from the STALKER community you fucking tourists. God I fucking hate the existence of GAMMA so much.

If you've never played the OG trilogy of STALKER, for the love of God, drop GAMMA right fucking now and play through it with no mods, or at the very least bug fixing mods like Zone Reclamation Project and Sky Reclamation Project. I don't want to see more people getting into STALKER from GAMMA and having the wrong idea of what STALKER is.

I've had fun playing Tarkov with friends, but it's worse than an MMO with what they expect you to do to progress. Lately, I've instead been playing Ghosts of Tabor and Pavlov and having easily 10x the fun doing so because the game isn't trying to simulate the icicles dripping off my nut hair while I pump myself full of experimental PEDs, requiring way more CPU than most people have to keep track of all the entities the game spawns.

Nah, one in the chamber mode in Pavlov is way more fun, and doing a pistol only run in Tabor has some of the same tension I enjoyed in Tarkov.

vanilla Anomaly is great compared to Gamma that you honestly dont miss half of the features besides the guns, and the individual features you enjoy can also just be added manually, i really liked how GAMMA handled NVGs and afaik thats a standalone mod
GAMMA is just does some wierd re-MISERY-fying by making it muh hardcore again while adding tacticool horse-shit into it, the hardcore aspects of MISERY were the worst aspects of the mod. To the point where Anomaly's base balance tunes them down by a fuckton, Dead Air was some of the worst mods ive played in spite of all the inherently neat visual shit it added, solely because it doubled down on the tedious micromanaging of not dying to the enviroment


You can also just take the time to just mod Anomaly to your liking and not use some faggy modpack made for people too lazy to use the piss simple ModOrganizer program, but thats enough Anomaly sperging


I hope more and more people start archiving SP Tarkov, i feel like it will die the moment they start pushing on this hard unless they turn back on this whole bullshit

This is the SPT website, it has the mod files there currently. Grab them while you can. However, SPT essentially just makes a copy of your existing EFT directory so you must have a compatible version of EFT first.

I've attached the latest release of SPT, and here's a link to the install instructions. The program used to downpatch Tarkov is a problem because it's different for every Tarkov patch, and even if I uploaded a bunch of them, hard to say that they wouldn't just shit out an update to break SPT right after taking it down.

If it does get taken down, your best bet will be CS.Rin.ru, because they have a tarkov thread where some guy uploads a pirate-friendly copy of SPT/SIT that doesn't need legit Tarkov installed.

Hunt does not, only SP features are challenge modes that give you an area to do certain tasks with certain loadouts, but you cant play the PVE content at all as you could do in a regular raid iirc

In the A&N thread about this someone mentioned Incursion Red River. Vietnam War 2: PMC Boogaloo. PvE only, SP allowed.

And I will second the hatred for MISERY. It was everything the name tells you, and the fact people celebrate that shit astounds me. Anomaly itself is great since its very configurable, and the DLTX update someone did to the engine means shit finally can play nicely together. There's even skill and stat mods to turn it into Fallout: New Chernobyl. My only complaint is there's no way to turn down armor degradation same as there is with guns. I'm a terrible player who constantly gets shot and relies on spamming healing items, and having armor that's as full of holes as I am sucks balls.

Legally they have to say you shouldn't pirate it, but many have stated it works flawlessly on pirated copies. Just have to go through the usual hassle of updating when the game gets updated and the latest SPT needs it.

Good thing I quit while I was ahead, like I dodged a bullet the size of a large truck. The way this game went is just sad and it's sad how many people not only still play it, will continue to play it, but will shill it to death. As soon as a better alternative to Tarkov comes out this game will be dead, hopefully. Shame Marauders is fucked. Hunt: Showdown was good, Quasimorph, while extremely different, is fun but more repetitive than the average Extraction Shooter, the Japs are making their own anime mech extraction shooter, and there was another one coming out soon that I've no idea about, Gray Zone I think. Vigor (console game lol) is coming to Early Access on Steam soon but I couldn't give less of a shit about an EA game, let alone a console port. Even then none of them are like Tarkov.

"Killed," much as I wish for it to be so because of how hard BSG was shooting themselves in the feet for years, is a strong word. God damn beat me to it and said it better than I could. Split the Stalker community apart because of that damn modpack and now the tourists are here to stay. Someone had to make a damn post warning people of another incoming wave of tourist after the first video Drewski made brought in the first wave. I don't fault anyone who likes Gamma, Anomaly (I sure do, after a bunch of tweaks and mods that make it as close to the originals as possible, even then I don't mind the differences after a while), or any of the other shitfests you listed, but for people to call those Stalker after all the damage they did is killing me.
