Escape from Tarkov - something something insert Russian memes here

Did SPT ever remove the DRM? I know Senko left and Senko was the one who seemed the most anal about the DRM and being anti-piracy, but the Mod part of the website still has this giant banner and the Official subreddit still outright bans "promotion" of piracy.

After this latest news where you've gotta drop 250 bones for PVE mode, I'm happy I only picked this game up for a couple weeks before I dropped it because my vidya buddy at the time went back to Rust. Tarkov's always kind of been pay to win, so it doesn't really surprise me.

In the A&N thread about this someone mentioned Incursion Red River. Vietnam War 2: PMC Boogaloo. PvE only, SP allowed.
It barely has any features (a single map, UI look like it is made out of unmodified UE windows) and the game decides to shit itself on newest GPUs/CPUs for no fucking reason.

Marauders also despite being out for few years has pathetic player numbers and during free weekend I felt like for the confusing random generated layout it gives you barely any time to scout for goodies or fight. Has networking errors where the matches start for you but not for your buddies or the game disconnects you randomly during the match. I can agree that Ghosts of Tabor is fun but it requires a VR goggles (Quest 2 costs about $400) and a cable or excellent wifi connection - for me the FPS drops are too much. AI is weird (runs much faster than you do, its either retarded or Jason Bourne, nothing inbetween) Could use more gear as there is only one backpack (I saw so far), no way to carry small items in pockets but there's a lot of weapons.

EFT lives only because their competitors don't put too much effort for anything cohesive, just bare minimum to draw purchases from disgruntled Tarkov players.

EDIT: New message from Nikita (u/Trainfender) regarding EoD:

Hello, Tarkov citizens!

To honor the owners of the EOD version and their indelible importance and role in the EFT universe, we plan to add the following new unique features to the EOD edition:

  • Faster return of insured items
  • Increased personal trader buying limits by 20%
  • Increased basic PMC karma (when it will be implemented)
  • Access to unique hideout craft
  • Increased basic charisma skill
  • Special quest line with increased pockets side as a reward
  • Ability to skip 2 daily quests per day free of charge
  • Unique dog tag
  • Unique armband
  • Unique set of clothing
  • Unique “Legacy” device
  • High priority matching for EOD owners for 6 months
  • Access to offline PVE for EOD owners for 6 months
We will provide those changes and additions as fast as possible.

Temporary access to PVE will be provided as soon as we will reinforce server infrastructure of that particular gamemode for a wider audience, because we use totally different servers for that and now there is a really limited amount of them.

Thank you!
Take care,
dev team

It is all tiresome.

"You get 6 months of free access, because after 6 months you are either bored of PvE or are such a big fan of it you'll give all the shekels we want so you can keep playing"
Its a genius tactic, though extremely scummy.
I thought the same thing too, since it kind of goes into vein of 'the first one is free' from the drug dealers, but then I realized it isn't even the same thing as the Players want, which is Co-op PvE.

This is fucking OFFLINE PvE meaning this is SPTarkov without mods that will cut your access off after 6 months.

I think it might be the Co-op that they are giving out for the new edition, or did they clarify that it isn't?
And anyways it isn't even offline, it still relies on servers so if the servers are down or your net goes out you can't play, It's not even offline!

lol, they just angered the mob even more.

From the website, ((Unheard)) edition:
Access to PvE co-op mode with persistent progression. Progression will not be reset with wipes.
From the post: Access to offline PVE for EOD owners for 6 months

I can't wait till they get sued and be forced to give refunds but realistically they will either A) tell people to fuck off or B) announce the UK branch of BSG will be shutdown/declare bankruptcy and slink back to Russia.

Battlestate Games stream-sniping LVNDMVRK removing all mentions of 'unique' and other contradictions that suggest EoD owners got fucked:

They really fucking believe that changing the description of already purchased product (this is pointless as EoD cannot be purchased anymore) will save them from wrath of lawyers. :story:

At least some of the players are enjoying themselves shitposting

I saw a post on xitter that made me chuckle, "it's not a dlc it's a special military operation". Also that is some extreme scumbag behavior, it's one thing to renege on promises not to have a higher edition of the game but to then alter the purchase description of EOD after the fact is just pathetic.

I used to be one of the many people who would constantly shill the game to my friends and remind them every time it went on sale, I will now be advising them to pirate it if they ask...

Why give the game anymore of your time? Really, send a message by not playing it at all and become completely indifferent to it. Don't recommend anyone to spend their time with it, they'll stop this when people stop pirating it and giving the game attention.

Submitted refunds thru their payment processer xsolla. Probably won't get them, but I'm willing to hit them with a chargeback or several. American banks LOVE stiffing Russian companies so theres a good chance I'll at least get my money back for EOD.

How long ago did you buy it?

My favorite part of that whole thing is "Priority Access to matchmaking for six months". You get six months of 55% cheated matches instead of 60%, and then you have to go back to China, or pay another $100+ to go back to your SLIGHTLY less cheated games. Because let's face it, half the cheaters do it to RMT, so dropping $300 for an account that probably gets banned once every six months is just a business expenditure, so the "priority queue" won't be nearly as safe as people think.

Unfortunately I still enjoy the game so I will be playing it (at least for this wipe since I already started(in SPT)). Nikita's response has really sealed the deal for me though, I'm not interested in supporting BSG anymore. Really sad to see what they have become, when there were plenty of options available for monetization(like paid skins or voice lines), that while not great, were a lot better than this.
