It's mostly a narcissist trait. Narcissists often align themselves with the left because the modern-era "cancel culture" empowers them, but it's not exclusively a leftist trait. In another time they'd be telling the Gestapo that the topic of their ire is a Volksverräter.

Ethan uses literally all of the same tactics when someone wrongs him. He tried to destroy Trisha and Moses, he tried to destroy Hasan, he literally just had to settle with Ryan Kavanaugh for trying to destroy him and his business, he's in the process of destroying Frogan, Denims and Kaceytron (because they gave him the ability to destroy them). He gleefully covers other people getting destroyed on his podcast (or he did before it turned into the Ethan Seethe Show). He just pretends it's a unique moral evil when people do it to him.

I doubt Kaceytron is going to kill herself, but he's encouraging his fans to dogpile her. I don't think his recovery is worth all that much even if he weren't fucking it up for himself. Let me echo the Norm Macdonald sentiment, I think everyone involved in this dispute is terrible. Contrary to the Norm Macdonald joke, I don't want anyone to die, because the schadenfreude of them suffering the consequences of their own actions and terrible personalities is far more entertaining.
