Falun Gong is not a religion, but a political cult of personality. In Hong Kong where the authority turns a blind eye to them, they erect big upright banners in the busiest streets, not propounding their faith (because they have none) but tirades endlessly about how evil the Communist Party is, how everyone should leave the Party for the sake of their "inner peace" (funny as there are hardly any signed-up memebers of the Party in Hong Kong). The most disgusting thing is the way they gloat over the misfortune and painful deaths of people who they think have wronged them: that newcaster who reported bad things about the cult dies in a car crash, ha ha ha! The actor who played Mao Ze Tung in movies dies of stomach cancer, he couldn't even ingest solid food six months before his death! woooo hooo!

The Communist Party is merely treating them as they treat any political dissidents. Whether you think it is appropriate or not, it is irrelevant to the discussion of religion.

China's treatment of Falun Gong is rather excessive, as it usually is. It is, though, a genuinely shitty cult, as bad or worse than Scientology, and should pretty much be subject to government scrutiny wherever it goes.

Turns out Christians are still human and do dumb and shitty things. Everything about the bible preaches to do better(as in follow the commandments) but it also says that as a human you're flawed and will mess up and Jesus forgives you for that. The point is to try and keep trying. As long as you're not reveling in sin(by being a slut or reveling in some other vice) then you can be forgiven by God/Jesus by being genuinely sorry/guilty for what you done and asking for forgiveness. It's like they don't even know their bible.

Well tbf the most about the Bible they probably know is what they learned in Sunday school when they didn't want to go so they didn't listen
