Former ponyfag here. Read this thing cover to cover back in the day and man was it not worth it. In addition to all the crap mentioned by other people here, the protagonist will not shut the fuck up about her (girlfriend) fuckbuddy. They meet, they fuck(thankfully not described in the actual text), and now lilpip acts like they're soul mates. From that point on she goes on constantly about how great Homage is which adds to the already bloated narrative.

In terms of fan shit there was a group of people attempting to do the impossible and make a fucking animated adaptation of this trainwreck. After nearly two years of broken promises, the first episode......'s animatic was released. Fortunately for us, it was cancelled shortly after that

I tried to read this fanfic years ago because I wanted to know why so many Bronies were praising it. I can't believe I got as far as I did, but I couldn't go any further because it was making me physically ill. I think it was chapter 23 where I finally stopped giving a shit, as I heard it was supposed to get even worse later on. I'm not that much of a masochist to finish it.

Drugs, rape, violence, corruption... These subjects are already disturbing enough, but it's the fact that a cartoon show about wholesome cute ponies was turned into an ultra grimdark apocalyptic fantasy incorporating these things is what made it extra sickening to me. The fanfic also feels nothing like Fallout 3. The thing about Fallout is that it's already dark and grim, because it's apocalyptic, but the games add this whimsical and light mood to it to make it seem like it's not so bad so you can stomach it and carve your little niche in the wasteland. Adding MLP to it would seem like it might add some of that whimsical and light mood, but the author did the complete opposite and somehow made it even darker, like they were trying to be the edgiest edgelord. They ripped off 1984 too. I think this fanfic was the initial turning point of why I knew to stay the fuck away from the Brony fandom if this was supposed to be the "Best fanfic ever".

One personal thing that really bothered me though was the main character constantly lusting after every other female character she came across or heard about. Lesbians tend to be thirsty, but goddamn.

already played the 2d one a lot some time time ago and its a nice game for a flash made on deviantart out of all places, it has some stuff that flash games dont normally have like remaping controls and status effects, but its also very incomplete because of "gibe mony plz" and stuff like that, wished they kept focusing on it instead of that fallout 3 mod monstruosity

also pretty sure the 3d one is never getting released

I know a few pro proofreaders and editors that work across multiple fanfiction spaces. These are people with degrees and experience and generally help out of the goodness of their hearts.

Well kkat hired a bunch of them to look over Fallout Equestria for a print run and they started editing and offering suggestions on how to word things better to not make everything so fucking confusing.

In response he threw the biggest bitch fit ever and fired them all, and kept the story the same without edits for the print run.

kkat is one of those people with an ego to block out the sun, and asks for editing and throws a fucking fit when he gets them.

His usual response to any criticism is a volley of vapid Boogie2988 style 'Do better, be good' platitudes.

Anywho I used to listen to the story on my daily walks because some poor autistic guy decided he was gonna read everything and publish it. Each chapter was between 45 minutes to sometimes 2 fucking hours long. The pacing is absolutely awful. I feel like more than 3/4 of the entire fanfic could be chopped out had he removed all the unnecessary filler content and didn't spend 10 minutes explaining the environment they were in. A lot of times he would drone on and on about unimportant shit and I would phase out. Then I when I start paying attention again I would have to go back to figure out what the fuck happened. I don't know why I did this to myself honestly.

Well, more like a species that had zero experience with warfare in general up until ten years before the apocalypse, and after surviving finds itself way too good at it to stop, would be interesting. Another nitpick is that most of the fucked up shit reminds me of planescape, like the room covered in mutatogenic substance that absorbed a hundred souls and screams with a hundred mouths, and the lesbian from the feminist vault finds the taint in her screaming along in tune. That's almost darkwood levels of horror. Another thing, is the author actually did a pretty good job describing lesbian relationships as they are: unstable, rollercoaster melodramas, and liable for one party to dump another if a male upgrade comes along. What stuck me about That Feminist Vault is not just how deeply unhappy the denezens are, nor how they use empty sexual favors as barganing or betting chips, but how they are taught in sex ed how to do that, with the MC describing how her first orgasm was done by her sex ed teacher in front of the entire class.
