Let's Sperg Fangames, ROM Hacks, and Mods... Oh My! - The main discussion place for all playable fan projects, most of them made by absolute autists

I was such a huge fan growing up of the THQ wrestling games. It started when I rented a PS1 with WCW vs the World. But once i saw that n64 has WCW vs nWo, that’s a reason why i wanted the console.

Met up with a neighbor that had a friends group who had the same interest and played n64 games together. We played the two wcw games and had so much fun and still cherish those memories over 25 years ago. Wrestling was bigger than the NFL at one time and i am happy that it was an interest i had back then.

But there is a huge community that mods these games and even makes total conversions with their own wrestlers and rings.

Here is a youtube playlist because this scene is wild:

I mean, I get that (the "Metroid 3" text is in the American version too) but its still odd to not even have a Junkoid 2 if he's gonna call one of them Junkoid 3.

Also I would really have loved to see the Junkoid brand of surreal dreamscape applied to Metroid II.

...........

Since the posts above mentioned Mega Man, I guess I'll shout out Mega Man Unlimited, which to me is the real Mega Man 11.

Also GillytheKid and Antdude have both done videos covering fan games and romhacks.
If he called the Super Metroid game Junkoid II, what would he call a game based on Metroid II? Did you consider that?

Smash Remix got an update recently.
Akaneia Build got one recently as well.
Project+ is still going well though, mainly adding new costumes and balancing stuff.

Is there a good (or any) Pokemon Pink game? Ever since I found out it was planned I wanted to play a version of it. I don't think there was any information about it aside from its name, so I'd imagine it'd need to be pretty much wholly original and based on educated guesses as to Game Freak's intent.

I recently played a fangame built on RPGMaker named "Pokemon Pathways". It attempted to make a Pokemon game with more jrpg elements, much in the vein of Persona. Don't know if it has been mentioned somewhere in the thread before. The game had a very edgy plot, but I didn't hate it. Anyway, do you guys know of any other Pokemon fangames that try to take the series into a different direction like that? So far the only other fangame/romhack I know that really changes stuff up is Pokemon Crown but that one hasn't seen a new update as far as I'm aware.

Plants vs. Zombies: Fusion is a relatively recent Chinese fangame made in Unity based on the original Plants vs. Zombies with the added mechanic of being able to fuse plants to create new, stronger plants. This adds a new strategic depth to PvZ, making it more similar to a proper tower defense game. I've played it and I've found it surprisingly fun despite the "Chinese game design jank." I would recommend playing it if you had fun playing either PvZ 1 or 2.
