This makes me skeptical as to whether or not Mama Perret read KAMGO (the "Kate novel" Fanny refers to), because - having read it myself - I still don't see how you could come away from it without finding Cyrus a deviant predator. Then again, we know that Fanny's family doesn't really read much for English, so how did Ms. Emma read it? Did Fanny read it aloud to her (possibly skipping over certain elements)? Did she rewrite the entire novel in French? I'd be curious what edition Fanny presented compared to what her English-speaking audience read.

Thread observers may have caught on to a trend of Fanny's by now in which she veers her characters into problematic territory, but not too closely; despite Cyrus' existence as a wife-beating misogynist who preys on little girls, Fanny seems anxious to make him realistically conservative - i.e., one who would not believe trans rights are human rights. There's a child grooming joke to be made here for sure, but such fruit felt too low-hanging to aim for.

Looking at her recent stuff makes it hard for me to believe that she ever went to art school in the first place.

Fanny was never a gifted artist, even in her youth, but knowing she went to an actual art school surprised me - though knowing she was rejected from Gobelins, the very art school her mother attended, makes me curious about whether a more prestigious environment would've kept her on the straight and narrow.

While very unlikely (something about power and money seems to bring out the more repulsive traits in many people), it likely would've earned her a more solid career than working on a single episode of a defunct show nearly 3 years ago. No wonder she decided to just jump the porn train.
