A while ago, I ran into some random atheist (Or should I say agnostic?) on deviantart. And honestly, the man has potential to be a LOLCow. He has recently been getting into 'debates' (If you consider throwing ad homenims back and forth worthy of being called such.) with a few Christians, and even a couple of atheists and agnostics who called him out on his autism. Need I also say he has an extremely deep and irrational hate for the US?

That's his whiteknight? Looks more like an artist that came straight out of 50s/60s Scandinavia. But you shouldn't use a religion besides your own to disprove religion, as an atheist using Norse myth against Christianity is like a Muslim using Kemetism against Judaism.

So I don't have the time to dig any further to get to the good, Odin-churning dragon turf is, but I chuckled at this idiocy. He seems to be buying into some obscure theory that Jesus existed and was fathered by a Roman General, and wrote an entire autistic screed about it. Is this the second coming of Brad Watson? I only ever found one atheist who even mentioned non-Abrahamic religions like Shintoism, Confucianism, and even Juche, and considered their flaws. And he himself was fine with theists as long as they didn't go around insulting people and put their beliefs aside in public life. And there are very ignorant people on DA, like this one chick who hated both Christianity and atheism, but was completely fine with Confucianism and Islam. Or another, who believed that Christianity is the most violent and intolerant religion. I'm fine with opinions as long as you can back them up, and you can't back this up.

But the guy also said that if a God existed that a belief in it would have to be destroyed, or else that would give one man divine power (Note that this was an 18th century philosopher's quote, when only a few countries even had what we would consider a democracy, and the rest had a system of divine right monarchy. In the 21st century, the situation is the exact opposite, with the most 'secular' countries being dictatorships, and the rest being virtual theocracies outside the government. Making said theory obsolete.

I cannot help but notice the lack of originality in his Deviantart posts. All they are are pictures he didn't take of people—often by famous people in order to make himself seem smarter—whom he doesn't know with quotes he didn't come up with.

I'm an atheist, and from where I'm sitting, there's no corroboration of the biblical narratives, so yes. One of my best friend's is a Catholic, and she agrees with me, and even admits that he might not have truly existed. She claims to be a heretical Catholic, in that she believes in their cosmology and theology, but thinks that much of it comes from an allegorical/inspired? source. I don't get it personally, but it's more rational than taking the writings at their word. That philosopher sure wasn't Descartes. Could it have been Hobbs' Leviathon? I like to think it depends on what god we're talking about, really. Judeo Christian Yahweh is a genocidal, slavery-sanctioning brute, but what if the dominant religion centered around Cernunnos the Horned God or someone innocuous like Vidar or Frey? Like, would the environmental concerns of that god trump the impulse to build nations and tyrannize?

He also uses quotes from American Christians against Islam, which he seems to view its followers as subhuman.

This just in, he is a pansexual and he possibly jacks off to (or fantasizes over) furry porn and clop.

As an atheist, militant anti-theists annoy me. Whether to be religious or not should be a choice up to the individual. A number of prominent anti-theists, most notably Sam Harris, have also said some downright bigoted and racist things, which their fanboys of course forgive them for.
