At this point, it's all just technical gameplay talk. I don't think anyone in 2014/2015 was expecting top-tier speedrun gameplay from Markiplier. People like Dream, Astralspiff, and Summoning Salt changed what people expect in gameplay videos. TheBones5 is just a product of the Youtube gaming landscape moving from an emphasis on commentary to an emphasis on gameplay. He's just a kid with his head up his ass. All of his videos are him failing a run, soapboxing like a fag, then winning.

Markiplier is a popular figure and popular figures are always investigated by internet autists for dirt under the rug so I think if he had faked any of his 20s custom nights, it would have been exposed by now.

I'm baffled it's not Markiplier since he pretty much launched the franchise into its popularity. Though I imagine at this point Mark's kind of sick of FNaF. Don't know if he ever outright said so or not.

I dont think that Mark is sick of Fnaf necessarily. The problem is that Security Breach left an awful taste in his mouth as its technical fuck ups really seemed to have plagued him particularly bad among other lets players (for no particular reason than bad luck, its not like his rig isnt one of the most potent in the community). Besides, Mark still rarely does a Fnaf related fan game if its really good.

I see him being on the same boat as most of the fanbase, its just not the same without Scott anymore.

There is also the fact that Mark entered a new phase of his life and Iron Lung seems to be his new focus while also trying to breach into film making (despite looking like the process was extremely draining)

Yeah no, shit's far too late for that, any and all fandom drama should be reposted here anyways because the series output has slowed to a crawl and I doubt much of anything else would come out. And of all the types of game they could make for a horror IP they choose a racing game? And a Mario Kart clone at that? I guess it could be fun to play and it's probably hard to fuck up such a well defined genre, though that would be in spite of the branding. Reminds me of how all the old NES licensed games would be some generic platformers skinned with the license material.
It doesn't look particularly good either. The vehicle designs and some of the courses shown in the trailer are all so generic it really does look like a template with some hastily made FNaF themed assets added last minute.

What does this have to do with anything in the series?

If they wanted to do a FNaF themed racer they could have done something with the Midnight Motorist minigame, or the Roxy Raceway stuff.

I'd argue Garfield Kart did a better job making it look like the source material than this. But ironically it's probably one of the only games that looks like it'd be worth playing, if it's got a reasonable price.

Also the real question:
How badly will this fuck up the lore? Will we get a 10 hour video essay on the importance of Springtrap's driving ability to solving the series?
