I agree. My niche interest became a reddit thing after his fucking video.

But I mean in general. All the brand icons are also obsessed with removing humans of all stripes.

My theory is brands are so afraid of "cancel culture" in the modern era that they don't want any risk of a human on their logo either coming across as insensitive, or having the real world model turning out to be a scummy person. It's better to not risk it at all. Remember Jared from Subway?

CGPGrey's video
That video wouldn't make me seethe so much if he didn't insist on the no state names rule, he swindled three of my favorite designs, California, Wyoming, and Indiana, out of their rightful places because of it and I think he knew this deep down which is why he subdivided the F tier. If he put FS and FA into S and A where they belong I'd find it real hard to disagree with his ranking.

Back around when I was still new I posted about San Francisco possibly doing a redesign of their current flag with some proposals.

Well that never happened. Officially. There exists an unofficial flag for San Francisco named dubbed the Fog and Gold Flag which also harkens back to the original flag with the pheonix design.

I'm convinced all of the recent proposals to change state flags are due to CGPGrey's video, so blame him.

They made Mississippi a tranny, that about sums up what I thought of that flag redesign personally, they wanted to put a flower on it, not because its the "magnolia state"? but because they wanted to "sissify" the state, it was a big "middle finger", basically saying "you wanted to be a rebel with the confederate flag? Well how about we give you a big flower on it instead, now you get to be the faggot state."
The flaggot redesign is literally reconstruction all over again. Honestly I feel the push to make it the "magnolia state" is to cover up something else about its identity, but I don't live there/haven't grown up there so I don't know what other than guessing something something history bad.

I don't like what California has become, but its flag is kinda cool and I know a few people who seem to like it. The obsession with arbitrary rules is stupid, the reddit take is making it look like a minimalist corporate logo. (They really love corporations)
Unsurprisingly, CGPGrey probably liked the MS flag because it was designed by literal corporate ad designers, (and got rid of the "racist" imagery). Same reason he liked the New Mexico flag. After watching his video, I realize majority of reddit are just parroting his stances.
Colorado received a higher rating than most flags, but it looks like a shitty gas station logo. He also can't help himself and praise a flag for imagery about fighting in "America's most bloodiest war" (on the Union side) without mentioning the confederacy killed more and the reason it was "America's most bloodiest war" was because both sides were Americans so everyone who died was American.
He also entirely goes against his own criteria of "good flags use simple shapes and colors" when talking about Oklahoma because it "represents indigenous people"
Personally I don't think it matters to have "complicated" designs on a flag if you have features that are visible from a distance as well, the nice thing about flags like Alabama, Mississippi, and Ohio is that you can sew those flags pretty easily unlike the ones with wax seals on them, which I think is why the original United states flag design was chosen.

Here's my submission for reddit's best flag design.
