I honestly skimmed it and it honestly seems fairly well written and I agree with some of what she says. But she does make it sound like it's exclusively something EN has to deal with, which even with just very basic Japanese, is plain wrong. Marine regularly gets snide remarks thrown her way via SC, Rushia even took a few days off when she read one that seemed to upset her a great deal regarding that the viewer in question found her more enjoyable when she had fewer subscribers. And I'm sure other members have had to deal with it, especially Aqua.

It's just a sad reality and I can't really think of any way to fix it, outside maybe a manager skimming through everything (which doesn't help Gura since she catches quite a few SC's live). But as a viewer at this point, who honestly still has chat open or actively interacts with them? At most just discuss stuff on Discord which filters out most of the white noise.

One of the reasons why hololive took off so well wasn’t just because 2D waifu, but 2D waifu which can be interacted with via superchat.
A manager/mod who checks each sc before it gets shown might be the only solution, but it would also potentially thin out lots of incoming donations.

Any clip for this?
I can't remember where it was, but it was pretty early on into HoloTalk where she shot down requests she'd interview people outside of Hololive (Holostars included), and despite her Bilingualism, she's never expressed interest in working with them, and I can't recall a time she's interacted with one on twitter either.

Mmm. There's a difference in execution, even if they do technically accomplish the same stuff.

During Ollie's debut, she leaned very hard into the idea of being 'one of the fans' who just so happened to get a gig at Hololive. She openly calls herself a simp and says she's simped for multiple Oshi prior to debut. Also, when she yuribaits and flirts, the running gag is that everyone usually finds her as overbearing as she presents herself.

The result is that people probably psychologically consider her screaming and fangirling to be endearing and relatable, and I'm pretty sure she has the self-awareness to know that people find her loudness annoying.

Kiara, on the other hand, specifically hones her loudness unto Calli or talking about Calli. She also outwardly states she has no interest in Holostars, promoting Holostars, or collaborating with them in any capacity, which is a soft spot for many Western fans who really want to see the male branch be brought more into the fold - something Ollie and Calli do and plan to keep doing.

So whilst I respect the notion that one finding Kiara unwatchable should feel the same for Ollie, I also kind of feel that Ollie does it in a context that people find more endearing, forgivable, and not wholly reliant upon the hopes you already like a forced ship.

Though I do indiscriminately roll my eyes at any clips or stream moments where they start flirting with one another - Ollie included - I feel like it's simply TOO MUCH of Kiara's character to be 'one half of TakaMori' that it's very difficult to find her enjoyable.
I feel like the two are basically the same character except that the zombie cranks up the loudness the crazy factor and morphs into the Indonesian Robin Williams.
While I don't doubt that there are legitimate reasons to dislike the chicken and her left wing roommate , a lot of the critiques are things that other talents have openly done but flat-out get away with it

so... Britti Venti cappacinnu levels of spreging out against Gura. Will get some traction maybe, maybe not. If it hits the reddits, then I say this will prolly gain... max 1.5 weeks of attention as Cover tries to figure out wtf to do with this kind of retardation (because it involves superchats), Gura probably be forced to say sorry to the fucking Dodo, and likely have to have more superchat readings (does Gura even read her superchats?), though iirc superchat readings also sometimes have the managers/talents filter through the superchats and their contents to avoid this kind of spergin.

Who the fuck knows. Spending $310 to send a poem is so fucking wasteful when they could've just used a twitlong and probably gotten more exposure because of hastags and shit. Nope, lets break it up into 30x $10 superchats and then get all salty and butthurt their superchat didnt get read but some chad big dicc who sent a red $100 (which, obviously is gonna get attention because 1) its $100 in one go 2) its fucking red, its literally an attention grabbing color) makes fun of you. Should've sent 3x $100 red supaas dumdum.

I've sent donos to twitch streamers before. If they read it cool, if they don't cool too because to me that dono is like a tip and I know it helps the stream in a tiny way (imagine if you got angry if your waiter didn't thank you by name, did a dance, have some kind of grapics when you tip em, madness). I'm not gonna bitch about it. I've got better things to do with my time. Like enjoying the stream.

I'll just say this, if you want to send some money to streamer because you enjoy their streams, it's fine and dandy. However, if you decided to just dump your purse on the internet by sending superberries to some randos online for attention, you should just end your life in meinkraft.

To be fair, I don't think people are criticising her for yuribaiting, I think people strongly dislike how forced the ship was.

I mean, out of all of Hololive, has there been an occasion beforehand where one of the talents pushed a fan-ship on the fans straight out of the gate?

A majority of the company yuribaits, but a lot of the ships people have developed naturally (Pekora and Moona, Noel and Flare) and/or as a result of circumstance (Coco and Kanata living together, Korone and Okayu having a history prior to Hololive, making them rife with chemistry and their characters compliment each other).

TakaMori was pushed VERY heavily before anyone even really had a grip of who either of them were, and the push was not distributed equally from Calli and Kiara at all.

EN is going to have a lot of normies, or more normal otaku, who really want to sit comfortably between the lines of 'I am watching an anime character' and 'I fully acknowledge that this anime character expresses the persona of the person behind it', and therefore find the concept of TakaMori to be too synthetic and unentertaining.

That said, I'm seeing a lot of comments like 'Oh the Kiara complaints are more obnoxious than her!' but, in reality, you can check Twitter and it's overwhelmingly supportive of Kiara. YouTube and Reddit too, in fact, I think if you're seeing a lot of negativity towards her that you don't like, you're spending too much time on 4ch and KF that it's getting to you.

Dear random lady - While I understand the sentiment, the performer is not some dancing monkey that you can throw money at and expect them to perform every time. Sending a nice message in one superchat? Fine. Sending a poem through 30 superchats? You start reading one, you're basically being expected to read them all. And who knows if the poem is even good/acceptable for her audience? Maybe by akasupa 17 they're trying to rally everyone to burn the kikes? It's an awkward situation you're putting the streamer in, and the audience generally recognizes it too. Hence the public derision. Next time, just send a regular SC then mail them a letter. They read those too, and it'd mean to them then feeling forced to peform like a goddamn monkey.

I hadn’t heard Rion do a karaoke stream before. It’s really relaxing and nice, and she has a pretty voice. Even has a background of rain sounds. Very soothing.

IIRC, she said she prioritize HoloJP girls first then eventually she will feature other branch on HoloTalk.

Yes, but Holostars is not a 'branch'. They are expressly a different production with a different management. They have no ties to Hololive beyond the company that owns them.

It'd be a welcome surprise to see them on the show, but I'm PRETTY sure she's said Holostars is a no-go.

Just a little something from the fandom side of things that caught my attention.

Some TakaMori shippers can't handle being exposed to any negative takes about their ship, evidently. And they MUST let everyone know about it, because being told something as moderate as "you need to learn to take the good with the bad" has this individual, at the very least, shaking for real right now and having panic attacks.
So they're perfectly ordinary shippers then. What's new?

Why the fuck would you tag it, for clout?
This is probably the first time someone is trying to cancel Hololive for not doing anything wrong

Are we reading the same article? This lady spends one single paragraph talking about the 31 supachat thing, and the criticism is like "well, Gura was tired so yeah". Were exactly is she canceling Hololive? Fuck, she admits she's a fucking Lunaito and commands us to become part of Luna's royal guard.

TakaMori was pushed VERY heavily before anyone even really had a grip of who either of them were, and the push was not distributed equally from Calli and Kiara at all.

I'm really curious how prevalent yuribaiting is among the western fandom. They're not just gonna completely manufacture a ship if they're not seeing analytics that indicate it being a huge factor.

Funny you should mention that. I also saw this in the replies of VTuberCringe's addressing of the matter.

So, never mind the fact that Calli's uncomfortable with it. Kiara allegedly gets upset when she sees people talk negatively about the ship, so disrespecting her feelings is the only thing that matters, clearly.
That's the thing, particularly with LGBTwordsalad "shippers" - they get so fucking militant because to them, their little fantasy about two people who have no idea who the fuck they are and may or may not be real, is a part of their own identity. So when it gets threatened they sperg the fuck out, entirely lacking the skills or qualities necessary to have a self-formed idea of who they are or a constitution that isn't as liquid as water. That's one of the main drawbacks of getting into vtubers that I've found - you have to deal with a lot of mentally ill retards and almost all of them I've noticed fall into this kind of creepy pattern.

any one got pants sc cause he seem like a based guy

Fans who feel like the streamers owe them something because they sent money their way are the fucking worst. If they do Superchat readings, expect

Jesus, this reminds me of the simp I brought up several hundred pages ago that sperged out on Silvervale and the Vshojo girls one by one because he was throwing thousands of dollars at them, went into debt, bitched about them on stream for ignoring and then got banned from their discords. And this dude went hard, over a period of a few months just in Melody and Mouse's streams I witnessed him donate at least $20k. He stated at one point he had went over $40k in debt donating to vtubers. At that point I think it definitely crossed the line from fun hobby to mental illness, fucked the line and then shit on its corpse. But he would send all these weird ass messages to them on twatter and in donos about wanting to meet them and cuddle them and all this weird shit. When one would stop responding as quickly or as often as he'd want he'd move on to donating to the next out of the group, from Melody to Silver to Mouse to Zen. The entire community is basically telling this guy "bro, just stop" and he doubles down further, then whines loudly about how he's going broke and no one ever pays attention to him. Then sends some more "omg youre so beautiful I'd cuddle you and wake you up with breakfast every morning" type messages to even lesser known vtubers lmao

tl;dr it's hard to tell with this kind of shit whether it's legitimate psychos or people just trolling. With Gura I'd be inclined to believe it's an anti or troll trying to knock her off top spot with controversy but I have learned to never underestimate peoples' ability to be fucking creepy retards.
