General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

It starts with public appearances with a sheen of terror, but grows into more comfort and more lackadaisical approach to casual encounters with crowds, lowering guards and personal security. Then before you know it I'm in your walls.
We're a lotta years past the 'cosplay is not consent' signs being new, but you can never tell with some fans at anime cons. There are some strange people wandering around.
I'm not saying she shouldn't be wary and have some precautions, is always a possibility for an incident to occur. There is a chance weirdos are in the crowd, especially at anime cons. Though, I don't think belittling her fanbase or encourage fearmongering is right if you do enjoy her as a creator and same time wanna see her be happy and move forward from her past. Keeki doomposting must be some curse from someone her ancestors wronged. Take a step back and see what she's been doing in the last few months, She's taking steps (in her pace) in becoming more comfortable with being out in public and meeting people at venues. She will stumble and change her opinion on things from time to time, but overall she's growing and pushing her comfort zone to where she can be happy and feel safe around people. I think Keeki is going along all right, and guess sadly it's just her fate to always have doomers. (:_(

Ayamy-Mama drew Pomu a gift and she's currently losing her shit.
Certified drying up woman moment.
More along the lines of her realizing it's not 2010ish-2019 anymore and people following her are nicer than she anticipated. She probably thought the love was only for the Kiara persona and not the person behind it as well.

it was said ITT but Keeki should just steal KKKaren's opsec of not doing public appereances without a decent security team thats either hired by herself or the con tbh

She can pretend everyones there for the ever shining cosplay starlet Keeki and double dip like KKKaren does while doing her best to avoid KFP cringe
(maybe she could start her own brand like Karen did, id imagine that the richer KFPs would buy merch even if they didnt give a shit about it)

Normal fans don't care if someone has a boyfriend unless it's affecting their streaming. Like sure if she puts him on stream or starts talking about dates the whole time or something, but if you leave just because she has a boyfriend then you were never normal.
So how is that the Mousey x Welshman works for the former? I know they are not formally a couple but come on, the fanbase shipping its already there even if they are still "friends", they coexist in their respective streams and both are not losing viewers or subscribers like nyanners does (if the bf its the cause).

That was probably Shinove at TT. Cover has used him multiple times when they need someone to accompany a talent for security.
Don't forget Hololive EN does, or at least, did have Loserbait working for them, a Filipino manlet and apex discord moderator who moved to Japan with aspirations of working in the porn industry, only to end up in the early Vtuber translation scene, from which he spread like a bad smell to what seemed like every fan discord and subreddit around at the time before crawling his way up into doing stuff for upd8 and Hololive.

Also, I'm not convinced Jenma is even a real woman considering nearly a third of all their favorited videos on YouTube were related to MtF transitioning before they nuked it. Regardless they are drowning in the gender koolaid and surprised they've managed to keep it in their pants this long (unless you consider the Omega yab their fault, which it probably was).

Catching up on another weekend touching grass and this thread posting like there's no tomorrow!

Maybe Gura will actually celebrate 4 million subs.

I meant inspire them in a competitive/leadership role not to do similar content.

I think she was going to do something for 3M subs but it was a really busy time so it never got around to happening. She said she is planning some stuff for 4M though to make up for it.

Matsuri's 4th Anniversary happing in a few hours:

I missed seeing that new haircut of Matsuri's come out. It looks horrible. Like a 5 year old got a hold of scissors and cut off all of their bangs to give themselves a "haircut". Is that what she was going for?

the HoloID mc server is the best looking imo. watching zeta's stream right now and it seems so much better planned out than the clusterfuck in the jp server or the... whatever is happening in the en server.

ID had MC-God-NPC Moona as a visionary for it from the start, is why.

Yeah when JP started their MC server and EN started theirs, they were basically a bunch of newbies who'd never played the game so their stuff organically grew with them as they figured out how to play and build better.

When they spun up a separate server for ID, they pretty much were all veterans of the game already from playing on the JP server and in case of some like Moona, experts.

Everytime I start to warm up to Kiara she does some bitchy thing like this.
The thing is that half of those requests are reasonable, but then she goes "download a beauty app so I can mask the fact I look like a goblin" and other shit.

I didn't mention it a couple weeks back, but I started to see flags when she had the list of things that all her concert goers were supposed to do. Like steal a towel from the hotel so they could wave them at some specific time/song, exactly which light sticks to have, etc. That reeked of "manufactured" fun to me with the performer telling everyone how to act and what to do during her concert rather than just letting things happen because people are ACTUALLY having fun. This list of demands from the Keeki side just pushes that she has to be in control all the time.

I know she seems to have fun doing it, but I think the Kiara persona has outgrown the Keeki one and it might be time to hang up Keeki/cosplayer for the time being if she is this paranoid about it. I don't know if she is big enough that the convention is actually paying her to come as a live cosplayer/guest, but I'm guessing not. The Kiara persona is her real money maker and she shouldn't endanger it with Keeki. There's zero need for her to even physically be there as seen with the other talents that have had convention "appearances" (all done remotely) so it is totally by her choice she is putting herself in this position. She either needs the "fuck it" attitude like Karen or to put the Keeki persona on hiatus. I don't know how long she can keep straddling between them and stay sane.

(I wrote this after the first page or two of Keeki doom posts and others have pointed out similar things since, but leaving for posterity.)

Looks like everything went well and schizo tales were avoided.
Honestly wish that she would have more faith and confidence in herself so we don't get the bi monthly doom posting.

Almost caught up on the thread, glad to see it worked out for her. Hopefully some lessons were learned from all sides.

Someone say parasocial? It works both ways!

Now she's thinking with portals.

Yeah, this was pretty much what I was thinking and would have suggested. I think her pull as Kiara might be enough to get a minor meet & greet, panel, or booth or something as Keeki, if she really wants to get keep doing the in-person stuff, with a bit of a wink wink nudge nudge. Let the con set the rules and control security for her. Even so though, the beauty app demand is probably too much. If that is what she is worried about she should have a no guest pictures policy and only have a photographer do the allowed pictures and email/post them to people who want or pay. All of that would probably be more expected of a panel guest than a random cosplayer out in the general crowd.

Pretty sure yeah Jchad is a dude, on her second TT visit J Chad could be heard laughing at connor at one point and it was a dudes laugh

If the time stamp doesn't work, it's at like 33:06, guy heard laughing in the background and connor responds saying "J Chad laughing at me"

If someone actually cares about this, it was actually around 31min in.

Scuff clip of Pippa raging.

@Retink You literally cannot fix this.

I don't know how anyone can get joy out of that, even ironically. Maybe it is because I have literal children and have heard tantrums like that before, but it is just triggering to me. You all have fun with your pippa if that's your thing.

It's the classic feelgood story of the cripple who can't ever leave her room or live a normal life, and the strapping lad trying his best to help her feel normal, at least for a while.

Because as fucking insane as mouses community can be most of them are in on the joke. If it ever came out that they were secretly dating the whole time no one would really be surprised but no one really cares if it turns out they're not because they still act like an old married couple whether they're dating or not. And whether they're dating or not they're still a positive influence on one another because they're actually friends so its not like the shipping is the only thing they have between them.
It probably also counts that Ironmouse herself is less neurotic and prone to spergery than nyanners, if only by a bit. She can go along with the joke and roll with, hell she often intentionally encourages it.

Council had already been hired by IRyS' debut. So pre-debut, yes, but not pre-Cover.
Right its just funny that if anyone had the thought they could have narrowed down Kroniis roommate with that info before Council debut

I think it depends on the vtuber for me. If GirlDM were to announce something, I would continue supporting, unless like you said it affected her content. But for a lot of the Indie/Western/Twitch tubers the line between vtuber persona/real person has always been thin and they don't really do the whole vtuber/roommate thing.

If a corpo/YouTuber vtuber did the same thing then that would be different, they have a stronger sense of kayfabe, and I prefer when it stays in place, I'm not even a fan of the Holomoms trend, it hasn't stopped me from watching anyone, but I'm still not fond of blurring that line.

Can't reply directly to you @VTuber Bob Dole

IIRC in an earlier members stream, Germans who were attending Dokomi specifically asked questions about Idol concerts with the intention of replicating it at this year's Dokomi. Last year there was little to no participation during her concert which put her off a bit. The Germans last year were pretty shy about participating in something as foreign as an idol concert, so this time they asked what was the right things to do. Kiara explained what traditional J-pop Idol concerts were like and in a later public streams like the one you which you mentioned she explained it to the general audience. It comes across as manufactured because that's what Idol culture in Japan is. Keeki the former Idol who dedicated years to chasing it, only for it to flounder absolutely wants the true experience of it first hand.

My intuition tells me if you want to listen to something loud, this might be a good choice.

I was going to say, "manufactured fun" seems like a very Cherman thing to do. These are a people who need to take classes on how to laugh.
