Inuyama Tamaki will be interviewing Lain Paterson of Nijisanji's newest JP wave 'Eden-gumi'.

I mention this because it would mean that Hololive Gen 5 is the first wave/generation Tamaki has completely skipped as long as I can remember her being active.

The reason for this is likely because of her close on-stream friendship with Oda Nobuhime (Polka's past life). It's something a lot of people wanted to see but this kind of makes me feel like it won't come to be — at least not anytime soon.

So I thought on past instances of JP V-Tubers engaging with people they used to before they reincarnated, and the only instance I could think of was Nishizono Chigusa collabing with Matsuri.
Lain is an airhead herself, so I expect some hilarity. She streamed together with Rene, another airhead.

I just tuned in to Kiara's SC-reading portion of the MC stream (thought "TF, this bitch is still streaming?") just in time to hear her talk about downplaying something, saying she'll still be friends with someone and then chat spamming Takamori being dead. TF happened there?

If I would hazard a guess, it seems the corpo-mandated Yuri-bait pairing for her and Calli is officially dead and they're no longer being forced to act accordingly for kayfabe.

I checked /vt/ because I don't watch Kiara but ironically trust their KFP board with my life.

It seems that Kiara has actively been dissuading TakaMori because it's pigeon-holing her character. Only took her a year to change course.

Who'd have guessed that leaning into being known as 'one half of TakaMori' since your debut would result in people seeing you as a one-note personality that wants to be seen as one half of a duo?

Tbf, the whole TakaMori thing was annoying as shit at first because it came off as Kiara pushing a narrative and Calli not wanting any part of it, on top of this Kiara kinda seems extroverted and the type who was just pushing it to yuribait off of Calli's back. It later turned out the whole thing was just an act between two gaijin friends where Kiara played the aggressive horny side and Calli played the straight-man, sane side and I thought it just became a meme after that but it did become a big part of Kiara's persona when compared to Calli.

Calli is the lovable dork, rapper, fairly deadpan humor in her reactions, has the "dad" meme going on and is one part of TakaMori.
Kiara is the trilingual extrovert who seems to idolize Pekora and is half of TakaMori.

I don't think Kiara is a shitty character, I just think she kinda stunts herself a bit with her choices in shit she does.

There are so many good games for collabs out there, so why the FUCK do these girls keep going for Bunny Man? good lord.
Bunny Man is pretty much the perfect choice for "we'll-fuck-around-while-we-basically-just-do-a-zatsudan" stream.

EDIT: You can really tell that Ina and Sana are old friends by the way they're just naturally messing around and trash-talking each other in this stream. Ina's also being more verbose and silly than usual. Such a natural, wholesome pairing.

Yeah I think she should just let it comes organically like how Ame and Gura just naturally comes together vs actual pushing it.

After the first few months, she should just had dropped it altogether when she moved back home due to passport expired. Think again, her yuri bait Takamori was so weak vs the organic bonding between Gura, Ame and Ina.

I think HoloEN2 also takes note and did not pushed for any yuri bait and wait for things come naturally. I thought Sana and Fauna would be the yuri bait pair for the Gen until after debut seeing everyone thirst for the airhead bird 🦉.

Umisea seems force at first but all members seems to influence one another to some degree. Marines wanted Ina (art collab that never comes true due to timezone) and learn shitposting with Gura. Aqua … is just there (maybe they throw her in the mix as she seems to be the pushover introvert type of girl).

I think the direction of creating subunit for promotion and theme like Lovelive is their next move so I wonder what kind of unit they will push out next.

Hololive already have sub-units and they're called 'Generations'.

Please for the love of God no more UmiSea-esque groups. I'm still reeling from 'Poggers Ocean' and 'Hydrodynamic is MY term!' being completely unironic lines in a song with Camellia's name attached to it. I'm not strong enough to face whatever the fuck they may make Kiara say. I can't do it.

Generations would be units, not sub-units.

For the record, committing a crime just to fuck with someone is gay and retarded, and as much as I hate vei I hope the retard behind it gets doxed and humilliated.
Paypal basically requires you to ID yourself in order to use it so she must know who did it. I also hate veibitch but doing this kind of horseshit to fuck with others is something only scumbags do!

The UMISEA shorts were funny because Ina's giant ass is a better voice actor than she is, so the "INA INA INA", "My hidden library of botched and cringe artwork", "BOOBS!" and other tidbits were hilarious just because she sounds as threatening as getting hit by a fluffy pillow lol!

Sana and Ina arguing about coffee and about what makes coffee a coffee is just the dumb content I needed. Like @Biobreak said, you can clearly tell they been friends for years because this is the sort of shit you talk about now. I'm still holding on that saying Sana will slip up at some point and say Inas real name.

The INA INA INA sounds were honestly the only parts she voiceacted well.

I honestly want to place majority blame on the Directors and not solely on Ina. While she could have reviewed the lines herself and decided for herself that they sounded phoned-in, I wonder what went through the Director's mind when they reviewed the audio clips. Did they understand English fluently, or is English their second language? Do they know how well-acted English Voiceovers sound, or did they only care about if the line was read with the correct meaning?

A competent English director would have asked to re-read the lines. "They don't sound convincing, I need you to put yourself in the situation. Gura mocked you for your small chest. You are greatly offended by this, and you begin to chase after her with the intention of hurting her for what she's said. You yell out to her in anger. Sell the scene!"

That's what a Director is for, to make sure that the overall voice acting is where it needs to be to complete the vision of the project. I think this is where the Umisea skits fell short for me, personally.
And I don't think Ina was the only one that had shortcomings in this area because of it.

Surely 'Hololive' is the unit and the generations are the sub-units?
Actually, if we take example from AKB48.
There is the AKB48 (also SKE48, HKT48, etc) as the Group.
There are Generations.
There are Teams.
There are Sub-Units.

Practically, Generations don't matter. Just to indicate the order of debut/batch of audition.
Team member changed & swapped regularly. Everyone is a part of a team, except when they are new.
Sub-Units has less number of member than a Team and has fixed member. Not everyone is member of a sub-unit.

No term Unit used. IMO, Team is the Unit here. Hierarchically speaking unit should be below the Group.

In Hololive, I think the one closest to a Unit is the generations or the branches. But I think branches is the Groups.
Sub-Units would be Umisea, FAMS, SMOK, etc.

Did Hololive ever officially call Umisea a Sub-Unit? I honestly don't know.

Yeah, Ina just stands out the most to the point where it's actually cute. I guess it could be explained by them being on schedule.
