General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Aki's persona hides a lewd mind and Matsuri of all people calls her out on it. Do I even have to mention the flirty interaction with Aki and Ina?
I read that Matsuri has said that Aki has a more perverted mind than her, Tamaki has said the same about Watame. People think they're pure but it's always the quiet ones who are the wildest. Matsuri is surprisingly easy to embarrass when other vtubers respond to her perversions. .

What Vtuber music are you guys into? Besides Karen's work, recently i've been listening to Suisei's Next Color Planet and her cover of Saga Jihen
Youtube recommended this top 70 hololive songs video ranked by views a few days back and I've been going through it slowly. It's a part of vtubers that I've never paid that much attention to, I mostly watch the gaming streams and funny clips. Many of them are much better singers than I thought, I mostly think of them as comedians so.. idols huh

Something something I can't read, but it looks like the bugmen are at it again
Just a Chinese news article about what happened and giving a little context into why the bugmen did it, also has a bunch of quotes from the bugmen like "The blade rests on the boss' neck." Which is meant to be some sort of powerful message I guess? Also mentions the Chinese community managers of ROG pledged to keep Hololive activities out of China with all their power.

Edit:

Upon further reading, yeah. It's just an article about the situation. Here's the wrap: Bugmen are happy they ruined a Hololive event, they're feeling confident enough that they declared ASUS a Chinese owned company despite the fact that it's Taiwanese and are making threats and one liners you expect out of a 10 year old. Taiwanese fans aren't happy, neither are the Japanese fans. "Are the ASUS headquarters in China now?" Is basically what they're saying. ASUS hasn't made any formal statement about the shitstorm that's currently happening.

I just got recommended this video
Now admit it, which one of you made this?
Looks like Ina was the odd one out even before they became hololive vtubers. I wonder if she just didn't have much of an online presence or if she was smart enough to use different usernames and e-mails for her accounts.

So I like to check pixiv/danbooru as I’m falling asleep. It’s relaxing seeing nice pictures.
Nigger just say you like to fap to anime tiddy before bedtime.
I get it though, danbooru isn't a porn site, there are far more images rated "safe" than questionable and explicit combined, just taking the piss. I go to danbooru to read translations of cute pixiv comic series.

In case you couldn't tell, I love Towa.

Wish this had a cleaner karaoke, but that's how it is.

It was in this cool acoustic live, but you have to have those electric guitars for this one.

SuiseiXTowa most powerful combo.

For non-Towa stuff, I also like Yoruno Neon. Unfortunately she hasn't done too much.

Ririsya is also pretty cool. She's also interesting in that she's a monolingual Japanese indie, but her subs are dominated by monolingual English people, due her getting a boost from the Calli contest.

She also does a memed on Lamy's membership jingle.

PPH slaps too.

I could throw down more, but this post is pretty big already. A lot of good Vtuber music to be had out there.

I was doing some tracing of Ina's career pre-Hololive earlier. I've no solid evidence that she's Nagu, but here's the links to her Twitter and Pixiv. If she's Nagu, then she's done pro-level illustrations.

EDIT: The main reason I might doubt that she's Nagu is how much of the stuff is in Japanese. It isn't that difficult, though, to translate and easily copy-pasted from DeepL or some other machine translation. Either way, though, your guess is as good as mine. If Ina can speak Japanese beyond basic stuff, she's kept a lid on it.

I also can't track it down at the moment, but there's been a clip floating around from Naguri's twitch before it was purged where they were doing drawing using a 3D avatar that looked exactly like this picture that Nagu drew of their own FFXIV character, and the voice sounded like a much deeper "Ina" voice. Her voice didn't sound 'different' per sae, more that she just sounded really down and depressed, and is clearly more upbeat now. The clips was something along the lines of a TTS saying "Donating to my favorite twitch streamer", and Nagu responding something like "I don't stream nearly enough to deserve that label, hopefully I can stream more in the future to make it up to you".

The connection is solid at this point.

Edit: More evidence for the pile:

I actually mostly follow them for the music. I’ll have to see how they sort the ranks. In my mind there’s basically 4 tiers. You have the girls who are naturally just incredible (Suisei, AZKI), the ones who are naturally decent and sometimes better (like Kanata and Haato), the ones who aren’t naturals but have practiced a LOT and you can see it (like Aqua and Ayame), and the ones who aren’t naturals, but they try to make up for it with enthusiasm! (like Korone and Coco).

To add some context to these two pictures and their correlation, Ina has attested that her favored Job to play in XIV is Scholar (and it's what she would probably go back to on a new character if Cover can get permissions to stream FFXIV) and, at least before patch 5.4 recently released on the 8th, she had done all the content available up to that point, including Savage tier raids and Ultimates. Even dropped an amusing anecdote that she had gotten so bored and so accustomed with running Unending Coil that she would multitask playing phone games while doing the first phase of the fight. That's definitely something one would get into the habit of doing if they have a reliable enough static and consistent strategies.

EDIT: Probably better left for the XIV thread but, god, that comp proves that the meta don't mean shit if Ina's been able to clear ALL content with a Bard, Machinist, and no casters. Also, based healer DPS.

Girls like Coco, Korone, and Ame is my favorite. Credit where credit is due to the more talented singer of the group, but there's an unmistakeable charm of girls that just sing like your friends do on karaoke booth.

The powerplay got the CN Asus manager fired at the very least.

I'm a huge fan of Toko and her husky voice, not to mention she covers some of my favourite songs, so its a double win.

Not that one, but after some Archive diving I did find the one I was thinking of: https://files.catbox.moe/s90dtk.mp4

Sounds a lot like Ina, her voice sounds a lot deeper when shes tired, as seen in her late night talk member stream and the watch alongs.

oh yeah, i forgot to mention this but I was talking to a friend on Facebook and Cover DMCA'd one of my posts, it was the one with this picture attached.
I wonder if jersh has gotten similar notices from this thread.

Oh, we're talking about covers and shit?

First off, Suisei has a lot of amazing music. AZKi too. They're incredibly talented and I wish I had more time to listen to them. Fubuki's Say Fanfare and Marine's Ahoy! are also damn good, most of the girls' songs turn out well enough.

However, if you forced me to pick one Holopro song, it'd be this one. Not only does it feature the winning son and showing off the fact that he has a pretty impressive rap game, it's just a great song for all of the gen 2 stars. On that note, subscribe to Astel. He does a lot of unarchived singing streams with Disney songs and he's truly impressive.
