I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. I was so shocked when the new costume was revealed. Hopefully, this means that Noel got over her trauma. Knowing Japanese work culture, it was forced on her. Poor woman.

Noel has done cow jokes for as long as she's been on the internet. She even owns cow print underwear. It's nothing new. Nobody in Hololive is changing their personality for overseas fans. The Japanese fans are the ones that like this stuff.

The clips Flare is referencing are JP ones with cringe clickbait titles. The JP clipping scene is as opportunistic as the holoEN clipping scene because there's no barrier to entry and it's free money for anyone with adobe premiere. Shitty out of context clips are one of the main reasons why dumb controversy happens on both sides.

Overseas fans think the JP are pure and dont have their own in jokes and run them dry just like we do.
They todally do, it just happen we dont understand the majority of them.

One example I remember is Ange Katrina. She wasnt originally supposed to be the DT Onee-san type, she was more serious. But after a certain Mario Kart stream JP fans started running with the gag and eventually adopted it because thats what her fans liked.

A) What the western fans have come to believe them to be.
B) Where the money is.

Flare saying 'Don't misconstrue us' is largely going to fall on deaf ears because most of r/Hololive don't realise they're bought into the exact skewed bullshit she's talking about.

That flanderization is probably why so many people were attracted to them in the first place since it's easier to Market a specific trait about someone that is to do a full character piece breakdown.

This guy's channel does almost exclusively Marine clips and highlights her drawing and passpartout streams. He also has a great example of how you can have something ecchi and make it more than a 40 second clickbait clip for cheap quick views.

I know this is a 2 days old post I replied to. But something striking to me is that it seems that he speaks Monoe like it's worthless to him. Not really a good idea to talk ill for a fired personel on a recruitment video since it can become a red flag to those interested in. Should've not talk about it at all.

Quite the bad blood, it seems.

All these clickbait channels really brings in a sour taste to me nowadays. Credit where credit is due they do their job of the "Hook & Snatch" and bring in new fans down the endless rabbit hole, but they generally speed sub it to get it out before everyone else which as we all know can leave to mistranslation and drama as such as happened in the past (Reddit post of Rushia Re-arrange lines for example)

This is why the clipper channels I now watch these days is far less and the only ones I watch now are either accurate & informative ones that haven't been speed subbed for views if I want a proper translation or just straight up shit post silly ones.

Take the guy Hololive moments I think about a lot channel. It just straight up usually simple shit posting edits. And pair it up with the chatoic engery of Nene and you get things like this:

God I love Nene so much.

I personally dislike a lot of clippers because of their video titles and thumbnails. I get why they title them the way they do, they just want to bring more attention to the VTuber in question, but they go about it the wrong way and often times it just devolves into straight up coomer bait which feels really disingenuous for ones that aren't even that sexual like Calli or Suisei.

If I remember right she was fired for a "serious contract breach" which to me sounds like she was doing something actually illegal. VOMS is insanely lax compared to alot of other groups when it comes to letting their talent do shit, I mean they're technically not even a company. The rrat that she was working some public servant job on the side is one I can buy since that's a big problem if you're caught doing it in Japan and she always seemed alot more serious than the other members. Still not a good idea to speak about it during recruitment like you said though.
