Saegusa Akina admitted in a recent Marshmallow reading stream that he crossdressed in middle school. Now, he claims this didn't awaken anything in him, but he's admitted he kissed guys before, and once wanted to kiss Kanae while he was sleeping during an offcollab.

For those unfamiliar with Akina, he's basically a male version of Aqua/Pekora pretty much, and like them, joining a vtuber company helped him become more sociable, largely due to his interactions with one Aizono Manami (the two are widely believed to be dating)

Man I'm ngl, as a Bi person myself I've honestly found myself really comfortable with the entire atmosphere of Nijisanji recently and how genuinely open they are about these things.

Gundou saying she went to a lesbian bar and realised the four girls she was sat next to were all people she'd fucked, Crossick, Hayase Sou, that one member who has the hots for one of the female staff members, Sara coming out etc.

It's very weird watching very clearly non-lesbian members of Hololive yuri bait to pander, and unlike in anime where characters are just characters and you can believe whatever you want, V-tubing toes the line of semi-realism where, even though you're watching an anime dog talk about how much she loves anime cat, you're also very aware that it's an extension of a real-life married woman.

Niji definitely do this too but I'm more willing to give it a pass because it's demonstrably an environment where that stuff is accepted and embraced both by managers and fans alike.

Akina kissing people in their sleep is pretty fucking not good though unless Kanae is into that.

Ah, one of the reasons you dig Niji is the reason I can't commit more of my watch time to them. Niji talents are oftentimes too real. I need my dose of fantasy. That thing people here call kayfabe.

That's definitely fair.

The two core flavours of V-Tuber is found between the two companies. You have 'I want to play a character and offer a lot of escapist material' in Hololive, and 'I am a streamer who just happens to be behind a virtual model' in Niji. I like having a dose of both, but certainly with how busy I am working and studying from home, I lean towards the more grounded conversations found in my favourite Niji members.

Hololive is something I've cut down on (except Towa and Calli, who I always watch), as I'm pretty unable to buy into a lot of it. I don't care much for idols, idol etiquette, idol music, or the annoying 'yaaaaaaaay!' they do after they introduce themselves.

Watching or consuming something just because "its relatable" is something I don't really like because its going to be a much more dangerous form of parasocial relationship, one that exploited you on a more personal, emotional, and intimate basis. VTubers are after all just like streamers in a sense, they are not your friends. So its best not to get too attached to one

No idea. She didn't give much info. Honestly I don't even know exactly who's her roomate.
She used to be a YouTuber prior to Hololive as well, so I'm guessing it's still Hololive related work. Probably some meeting since I've noticed a few members have had to go to in-person meetings recently.

(She's since moved from that place admittedly)

so Legend of Polka newest episode is on premiere right now and you can watch it since its already include the Eng subtitle, such considerate fennec. and actually a fresh content comparing to others so far
Hilarious that the logo is a combination of the BOTW font with the logo of Kemono friends

Edit: Calli started her comeback stream with a carton of milk, also the guest for the Shadowverse collab is not a vtuber

Edit 2: she did not knew about Parsec

Now that I give it a bit of thought... Kanata's financials might not be good.

No house of her own. No cars. As far as we know, no massive savings. Is roomating, meaning she doesn't even present the leasing certificates (Coco most likely does). No job, and only showing contractor status. She may even be helping her family, decreasing the savings even more. She doesn't seem like a good candidate for a CC. If a person goes nuts and breaks the card with insane spending, the bank always should have a phyisical asset to seize to compensate for the loss.

Not a great look to be given her a card. And also, if her financials are so strained, it is probably for the best not to have a CC. Those things tend to bring bad luck.
You just mentioned a lot of things that would make it so she doesn't have expenses. Thats the opposite of her financials not being good. In paper it probably does look pretty bad for banks though.

Credit cards were not really mainstream products until the last ten years in Japan. It's a lot harder to get one than it is in USA. I'm not surprised someone with almost no credit history like Kanata would be rejected. Japanese credit cards expect you to be able to pay the full amount at the end of the billing cycle

Thats actually how you are supposed to use credit cards. If you are not doing that, then you are a dumbass financing the rewards system for everyone else that does use their credit card properly.

The phrase 'just because' is doing an unbelievable amount of work here and isn't at all representative of what I said, and there's a fatal leap in logic to assume that the destination of any fan is always a 'parasocial relationship'.

People like Rushia more than Coco, that doesn't mean they're going the path of a more dangerous parasocial relationship because the character is a Yandere, they simply vibe better with the character - a sentiment the first person who replied to me seemed to understand.

I don't watch Nijisanji 'just because it's relatable', I watch a number of its members because I like them, I'm just saying that I like seeing, and vibe more with, the more casual and less-filtered openness that can be found there.

I personally just watch things for the entertainment value rather than to gain some sort of relatable vibe since nowadays that tends to go south.
I view Holo the same way I view the Muppets.
You know there's a performer behind the character but sometimes the realism is mixed in with the fiction and it just becomes really entertaining.

I think this is a really apt analogy. But in the same vein, I couldn't watch The Muppets all the time without getting burnt out and wanting a change of pace, and as hilarious as watching Kermit play RE8 would be, and the grander 'The Muppets Online' story would be, I will probably reach a point where I just want to watch a normal streamer shoot the shit while talking to chat or playing games. Hence why I said I balance the two out rather than one or the other.

imagine watching vtubers for their skill in video games.
You don't say

From Haachama member stream: seems like she's been feeling stressed lately due to university, her adjusting back to JP environment. Most likely why she's not been streaming as much as before.
If that’s true, I’m more impressed that she actually manage to pass Japan University entrance exams consider she had been study in subpar K12 environment like Australia, that is far less competitive than East Asia counterpart.

True, but I've also heard that the reverse is true when it comes to college in Japan. Like Japanese universities are shit, and the Western ones are better.
