can't speak for others but her design doesn't appeal to me at all. it's not I don't like it but it inevitably does generate a first impression, and with it assumptions derived from it. the more over the top a design is the more divisive it is, it gets more eyeballs but also more reactions. a "normal" design might be boring but it's also safer in that people start watching with less preconceptions. might be shallow, but if even I fall victim to it while being aware if it, can't even imagine how it is for most people.
imo similar to roboco where it feels she got a boost after her new costume reveal (she was always adorable and cute to the point it makes me feel funny in my chest, but you wouldn't assume it from her original design). would be interesting to see how it works for ollie with olivia.
or take watame where you can immediately gauge what you gonna get.

my impression is that she chased a few, be it out of desperation or loneliness, and then it didn't work out because it was too much (still remember that nene stream where it felt a bit uncomfortable even for me). as @Cubanodun said all she needs is some heavy handholding for a weekend as a start and lot of the menhera-energy will probably dissipate...

Ive personally stopped watching Matsuri because the way the girls have described her advances and what is basically molestation. I can see why there's a distance between her and other talents. Her approach is less playful and more stranger danger if you get what I mean. I surprised she hasn't been reprimanded if this is the case.

That is pretty damn impressive. Zen had a pretty good charity run for them last year that earned around 13k iirc. I think it's great that Mousey got the chance to do this and that it turned out as well as it did, wholesome all around and sends a message to people like her with fucked up immune systems that even bubble people can still get out there and get shit done.

I know we all like to shit on VShojo whether it is warranted or not, but I really only wish the best of Mouse and glad that she is raising money for charity and that she has been only going up both sub-wise and health-wise even if on the latter aspect it is a slow progress.

In my humble opinion as someone who doesn't produce youtube content, I think being overtly edgy to pander to 4chan users is probably a bad idea in the long run because no fanbase associated with 4chan can survive longer than a couple months before collapsing into a neutron star of autism and untreated schizophrenia as normal people get exhausted and quietly leave while schizos have limitless stamina and capacity. They're a broke as fuck demographic that will turn instantly the moment you cross some stupid political red line like chinese people. I don't see the point of it if you're able to cultivate a buffer of normies and can fly under the radar like pewdiepie and jontron after they learned from their mistakes. I haven't seen any examples of content creators that have a 4chan fanbase that turn out well over time but I got no idea how to find this mythical "well adjusted person who can take a joke" ideal demographic.

On the JP side of things, there's a good reason why very few mainstream vtubers will admit to using 2ch (Pekora has it bookmarked lol) even though it's still the biggest vtuber discussion forum. The huge burst of attention that comes from being /ourgirl/ quickly dissipates and antis will eventually find something to nail you on. Kusunoki Sio is an example of this (although her own actions were the catalyst for her downfall). Acknowledging the existence of 2ch/4ch is like looking at a street junkie straight in the eye when walking outside. You became a part of their reality and now you get to deal with the consequences.

I wouldn't say Pippa is overtly edgy, she has her moments of touching of internet hilarity but she hasn't outright engaged in fuckery that would get her fired.

Well, if the discord logs told us anything about Yuni's case, she wanted to be "free" of the consequences of behaving freely on stream and social media after she got exposed to /vt/ for a long period of time.
She does seem capable of obtaining that normie-buffer as you put it so it has to be seen if any of the tourists sticks around.
