General GunTuber thread

Everyone is fucking upset over that. Prices triple whenever Ian's horde of retard groupies go after something he did a video about. He should be drawn and quartered for that alone.
I don't really care honestly, it is what it is. If it isn't Ian inadvertently driving up the prices then it's the bunch of gun hoarding retard collectors doing it. Ian's method is simply faster.

Yeah. No. That's a huge cop out. This pony tailed insufferable faggot does essentially what Classic Firearms did, except that it's somehow ok because of that retard Gun Jesus meme.

Dude, like I said; I don't really care. I'm old enough to remember good gun prices but I'm also young enough that I don't remember the time before gouging was the norm, from where I'm standing old guns are just plain too expensive and nothing's gonna change that until the market sufficiently turns and the people hoarding them in their collections either start selling or dying off en masse.

For what little it's worth I agree with you though, death to price gougers.

I think the other theory that was floated was that some of RIA's regular buyers were slightly upset about anything Ian touched there suddenly doubling or tripling in price. The types of people who buy at those premier auctions are cheap and petty enough to be upset over that.
I find that unlikely. The entire point of an auction house is to find ways to jack up prices so the house's cut is also larger. Bringing a "celebrity" to advertise shit, and then said shit going up in price is the system working entirely as intended and no amount of "regulars" bitching about it will change the fact that the house is raking in the dough. Ian had worked with them for years, if that had been the issue he would have been dropped after the first or second auction he covered because the effect had been there from the start.

What I think actually happened was that with youtube's ever-tightening rules on gun videos, Ian wasn't allowed to link to RIA's website or mention lot numbers anymore. The boomers at the top then decided that was a breach of whatever deal they had with Ian.

Either that or they got a new PR/social media manager who's deathly afraid of pornstaches. We'll never know unless someone speaks up on the matter.

After reading the book autism on the last page, I figure I'll throw my hat into the ring. I bought a copy and waited through the entire ordeal because when it comes to guns, I like weird and the weirder the better (a Dreyse 1907 is proudly in my collection, for example). When it finally showed up, I found that it's both a coffee table book and as much of a reference book that it could be given the subject matter. Overall, it's a very pretty and nice book with the gold paper, flag bookmark, etc. I don't feel that I got less than what I paid for. Admittedly, it's been sitting on my reloading desk since I have no shelf space deep enough to hold such a long book. I also have to give Ian's writing credit in regards to the clarity. My girlfriend knows very little about guns and how they work, yet she was able to pick up the book, see why the guns are bad, and then get some laughs out of the silly markings on them.

My personal theory is that RIA thought their own social media presence was good enough during the coof lockdown and decided having Ian around wasn't useful anymore.
My own: he simply doesn't have the time to physically travel to those auctions & trawl through the entire catalog, due to his increase in globe-trotting, different content creation, etc. And/or he has prior obligations, so RIA decided to go with someone else.

I forget what Q&A it was, but Ian did talk about how much of a time-sink covering auctions was.

I figure the reason Ian didn't announce the split is because he knew it would cause rampant speculation & autism about RIA & FW having a drama-laden falling out, when it's really just business; "parting ways" doesn't always mean it was acrimonious.

Has there been any details behind why the split happened.
That's the only place I've seen it mentioned, and I only saw it because I autistically loaded all the comments of the video (it was near the bottom). It's worth noting that Ian has gone to the recent Morphy's auction so he is still working with them and they are a rival to Rape Island Auction.

It's a real shame to, the Soviets/Russians came up with a lot of interesting and wacky shit that has little to no coverage in the Anglosphere.
You have to look a little further afield now. This content has a more boom than even Demo Ranch, but at least many of his videos are now enabled with auto-translate.

I'll be honest with you guys here. The fact that he doesn't feel uncomfortable to run around in his birthday suit really doesn't bother me at all, particularly when it's in a country where dudes being naked in front of other dudes is the norm.
I don't really care much about it, honestly. Gave me an excuse to watch a bunch of Finnish Brutality videos.

Haven't paid attention to this guy in awhile. Looks like hes still oscillating between shooting guns, grenades,, mines, artillery, tanks etc., and handing out bread to elderly people. In one of his recent videos he goes over different ways people can clear mines from in front of their house or street.

Here's another good one, about the 9x39 & VSS Vintorez/AS Val

Gun bros I dont think Ian feels so good now that his content is putting a p320 together

At least he built the FCU from a stripped frame instead of buying a prebuilt one from SIG. That would have been an incredibly boring video.

I like the comment about roll pins deforming when installed as he installs it by hitting it with a brass hammer instead of using a roll pin punch. If you use the proper tools, they don't deform.

I'll give him credit for pointing me in to the right place for my next p320 build, I like the look of their black FCUs, the golden ones that sig sells as stand alones are so ostentatious.

>Ian releases a video featuring him geeking out over a cool-looking gun.
>the speculation: "Look! Look! This isn't an old gun! He MUST be running out of content!"
>what probably happened: "so you're saying you're going to give me a brand new cool-looking stocked SIG and all I gotta do is put it together on camera and tell people about your business? Count me in!"

Remember, guys: Ian is a huge nerd. Let him film a gun he thinks is neat and he'll make a video out of it. He might be running out of content, but this ain't a sign of it.

He's still never done a video about the Deagle nor Glock.
He's made an enormous number of videos about various 1911/Hi-Power based pistols, but he has made barely any about Glocks or modern AR-15s. There's an enormous amount of variety for both. The AR-15 platform has a ton of weird and interesting things he hasn't covered like the Fightlite MCR, lever action lowers, Tromix .458 SOCOM (just for the history), AR based shotguns, the AR-57, all the Cali-compliant stuff, guns that look like a standard AR but with a weird operating system (there's a bunch), and the BRN-180.

This one. Some of the Finnish competitors did that sauna stage buck-naked, and he went native along with them.
Godammit. Why do skinny wypipo insist on shaving all over? It's so unsettling, like a naked mole rat or something. You cannot look masculine without some chest and ass hair.
