not just incest - emotional incest! which is such an obscure term i had to actually google it to find out what it was. it has a hilariously short Wikipedia page.

it involves no real sexual abuse at all. it's basically when a parent dumps all their baggage on their kid and expects their kid to take care of them emotionally while simultaneously failing to do the same for the kid. there seems to be very little in the way of academic research on the concept; most of the search results link to blogs or websites that, as far as i can tell, have no affiliation with any legitimate mental health organizations.

really just sounds like an edgy way to describe a typical abusive relationship between a BPD/NPD parent and their child.
