Kek, all the negative stickers yet nothing substantive to disprove what I said. Cope, the third game is never coming out.
I would but why waste my breath? I know I could probably rebut most of your statements but why? You're already clearly arguing in bad faith so it's not going to convince you. Just admit you're drunk once again and you need something to entertain your deluded mind right now.

@Taki Supremacy Enjoy the cucked, unfun Tau Cannon on your buggy while it lasts, because that's literally the biggest weapons variety you'll be getting in this game lol. It's unbelievable just how poorly this game aged and how little replayability it offers.
That's why I play Overcharged currently. I like the goofy stuff they added in. Reminds me of SMOD Redux

If you own a vr headset and you haven't played them already, the vr mods of half life 2 and it's episodes are definitely worth a play. You get a familiar yet different experience compared to the usual games. The immersive reloads and ladder climbing are my favourite additions personally.

Having played them, yes and no.

HL2 works pretty well until the driving sections and the street wars, especially with the striders.

EP1 is the best experience out of the three because it translates the most to VR and the least tense game in terms of escalation with very laidback outdoor combat and pretty much all spectacle in terms of danger to the player. It's basically a prototype for Alyx.

EP2 sucked and I wouldn't recommend it. You can tell that Valve got their footing with developing HL2 by then because playing EP2 without a M/K or controller is awful.

Some of you may recall a developer commentary from Alyx about why the Antlions are so slow or why the Fast Headcrab was removed. Play HL2 in VR and you'll soon find yourself agreeing with the devs.

Reminds me about the time when Valve did a VR port of HL2 for Oculus Rift DK. It was simple but I liked it. Would like to play something like that again. People getting sick is holding VR back so much.

I wish more games would allow seated VR where you still control everythjng with a M+KB and the VR is there purely to be as a 3D monitor. For example, you turn side to side with mouse but aimtl with your head. I cannot imagine such hybrid gameplay option being too hard to implement for most FPS shooters. It would completely get rid of VR fatigue of having to flail around everywhere.

say what you want about the original xen but black mesa's interpretation was awful
Trading in the HR Giger inspired aesthetics and atmosphere for a Halo Combat Evolved aesthetic killed all my hype the moment I saw it.
I could've understood a Dead Space inspired angle, but what Crowbar Collective went for did nothing to elevate Xen.

even more fun and sandboxey with hl2 vr unleashed mod that adds dual wielding which allows using any combination of guns and adds physical punch for hitting stuff without crowbar

Funny how Valve fanboys still, to the point of absolute derangement, obsess over this dead franchise that hasn't been great ever since the very first installment and its DLCs. HL2 with its episodes was a bad sequel and HLA has been so irrelevant outside the short window of hype directly after its release due to being a VR game it's not even funny.

That was the original HL2 VR that Valve did. There used to be lots of mods like that, I especially liked Duke3D and Quake 2

Yeah but then right after that he asks Freeman to take off the HEV, put on a white coat and do lab work. There's some disconnect there I thought.
Like bro Freeman took out a whole fucking company or two of spec ops, a few tanks, a few apcs, a helicopter, and thats before mentioning the aliens he kills on the way. THEN went through a portal, fought through an alien wilderness, fought through an entire alien factory tower thing and killed a giant alien nigger baby.
And then Eli asks this inter-dimensional God-Warrior: "Can you do some math calculations for me?" I just hyper focused on that and was wondering how much the resistance actually knows about Freeman's exploits, but the clip provided by @thhrang gave me some more context.
Anyways, thanks for the interest in my playthrough. Unfortunately my work vacation has ended so my next playthrough post will probably be next weekend, or maybe New Year's Day.
you also seemed to forget he jokingly tosses alyx at gordon, so yeah he wanted gordan to do more than math calculations for him as he's getting old while gordon still looks like he is in his mid to late 20's and the supression field is down according to kleiner's broadcast, strength in numbers, arisen.
ops wrong game.
My understanding is that they wanted Gordon to work on the teleporter because he's one of the like five living people with the qualifications to do so and it's the central part of their plan to help people escape from City 17.
also this, they also seemed to be pretty disconnected comms wise as the creator of the gluon gun only shares the fact that freeman got a important tool-turned-weapon to the other scientists that were priming the teleporter to xen first, then barney showed up and they thought of rebounding the teleportation between the borderworld to a safe place in earth, also also they seem oblivious to the HECU transmissions about freeman too.

people don't criticize BM:Xen because a dude worked in that shit for years, that would be rude, leave it for some kid to do it instead :smug:

He doesn't know him as a legendary messiah figure, he knows him as some guy who used to work under him. I'd assume he's also a talented physicist in his own right.

He knows Alyx has the hots for him too. I'm not sure Gordon does, since he's a mute autist.

Pretty tismy video about what'll happen after HLX hypothetically actually comes out.
