Helldivers 2 - Hell is more diverse than ever as PlayStation's demographics continue to grow and change.

Even recently the devs have referred to Helldivers as a milsim or hardcore game which it obviously isn't,
If this was the case they wouldn't have strategems be so easy to deploy. It would require awaiting authorization and constantly updating the target so that it can be delivered effectively. You would be a SEAF grunt, not spec ops (which is just a grunt that bothered to apply) with carte blanch to command your own ship to do whatever you want. It's well known that Arrowhead is seemingly schizophrenic and the head that wants the hardcore grunt fantasy acquiesces to Sony and the head that wants to balance for the sake of fun (and thus player enjoyment) when the players shout loudly enough, only to try something else a month later. People thought the PSN debacle was the biggest hurdle of the game but at this point that's small potatoes. PSN was essentially bureaucratic-type corporate fuckery, this is just developers refusing to fully accept what the players want. And I get that, because when your vision gets tarnished and casualized in chasing popularity it feels hollow, like how DBD went from a sort of grungy actual asymm horror game to basically a party game where the survivors actively taunt and bully the killer (ignore that bhvr today are massive faggots).

The problem is that Helldivers wasn't even its intended vision from Go, and that's why it was so popular. If it was the actual hardcore game they wanted it would've had a nice crop of players who enjoy that and be it, around the numbers it has now. Instead we went from insanely good numbers to what we have now as a matter of poor decisions.

As someone who hasn't played the game and not really paid attention I can say that a SEAF-based Battlefront-style horde shooter where its you and 15+ other dumbasses w/ AI grunt backup all dying constantly to try and take and hold a bunch of capture points from a horde of enemies would have been fun as hell as a game concept on its own. But instead its a game where you're orbital drop infantry with on-demand fire support they're trying to pass off as some hardcore grunt milsim, but none of the actual milsim mechanics like say, stealth, work particularly well.

Super Credits & a Fairer Galactic War: You Asked for a Cleaner Fight. Here It Is.

Cheaters have been a top topic in player feedback since launch, and today we are united in dealing a hefty blow to their undemocratic ways!

Greetings, Helldivers.
You've told us that cheaters and exploiters ruin the experience that it feels unfair when someone games the Super Credit system while you're out there earning yours the hard way. We heard you, and we're starting to implement changes that will tackle issues like this...

Today we’re improving our monitoring methods for suspicious Super Credit activity. Here’s exactly what that means for you.

TL;DR
If you earn credits at an unreasonably high rate (substantially higher than the highest players earning ever recorded) there are now steps in place to counter this. This will not affect legitimate players, only the bad apples cheating the system.

Good news first: this changes nothing for real Helldivers.
If you're playing the game grinding maps, clearing POIs, looting bunkers you will never experience any change. So keep on liberating with your squad on a marathon grind, or even a full weekend of play. The steps exist to catch bad actors, not to slow you down.

So who does this affect?
Cheaters. Botters. People using automation and duplication exploits to hoover up Super Credits at rates no human Helldiver could ever reach legitimately. Those are the targets and now we have radically improved the tools to stop them at the source, before they can do damage to the economy you play in.

By drawing a firm line, we can:
  • Catch and stop cheating at the point of exploit not after the harm is done.
  • Keep earned rewards meaningful, so your Super Credits actually feel worth having.
  • Level the playing field across every planet and every player population.
  • And of course allow you legitimate players to keep as many super credits as you earn, forever!
  • These changes will be rolling out for all reward currencies including Medals, Samples, and Requisition

This is a win for the community. A healthier economy means the Super Credits you earn through honest service to Super Earth stay worth earning.

What if something seems off with your account?
We know changes like this can raise questions. The player support team is ready to review your case.

You told us the fight wasn't fair. Today marks a big step towards eradicating pesky cheaters. We'll keep listening and keep communicating openly as we continue to improve the game.

For Super Earth. For Democracy. For a cheat-free galaxy. <:diversalute:1212879696530772048> @everyone
I guess you can't cheat in super credits anymore.

Sony is probably getting a little stricter after Destiny 2 shut down.
