No, it shouldn't be "stackable" like Hispanic/Latino. It's a separate category, between "white" and "black". In fact there are plenty of MENA Latinos all over the Americas. But you're more likely to be a Hispanic Asian (e.g. Japanese Brazilian) than a MENA Asian (e.g. Chinese Egyptian) for example.

Now the Arabian peninsula actually does have a lot of S and SE indentured workers, but the immigration situation in those countries is considerably different, and a lot of those people live in near-slavery conditions and lied to about their status.

A few more questions remain: what do we do with "borderline" groups like the Turks, Iranians, and Maltese (for white), and Eritreans, Ethiopians, and Somalis (for black)? Also, if we do split S, SE, and E Asian, should S Asians and MENA be in the same category?

Also IIRC they're already going to make it its own race in the 2030 census.
