I hate the Internet and the people who own it

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Well is is embarrassing... I can't see KF in 'the land of the free and home of the brave,' and yet... I set my VPN to Britbongistan, and here I am.

Why is the US getting cucked by the fucking UK? (I know, it probably isn't by their choice, but it still fucking happened.)
It might go soon. I would venture at least one in Europe or the UK will go as it's early morning there and they are not in the office yet.

I mean, all VPNs should work fine unless the VPN itself decides to cut off KF, right?
That is, assuming it's the backbones not passing on the traffic, which seems to be what's going on... right?

[the answer is no, i'm dumb, for some reason I was imagining a VPN obscures both ends of the communication to the routers in-between, the user and the site they're accessing, but of course it couldn't obscure the latter]

The way a VPN works is it connects you to one of their servers, which then are your routing point. If your routing point goes through one of the things blocking the site, it won’t work. Most VPNs have multiple servers in many different areas, though, so it’s not that big of an issue.

I’ve tried multiple different kinds of ProtonVPN servers to get on here, yet once I had one that worked, it’s never stopped working.

Though Null may disagree, I actually kind of like this as a general status regarding the site. VPN access is far more normie-friendly than TOR, mostly due to just how often YT channels spam the concept, so it’s in a state of “everyone can get to it with just a few little steps using something they’ve heard about, yet it’s not open for everyone to launch attacks at.”

@Null You might not even see this (I'm sure you get a million @'s a day) and I'm sure what I'm about to ask for already already exists on here but...

Are there any tutorials on here for how to actually use tor?

If there are, it might be a smart idea to make that a featured topic. (@Null /other mods.) I'm sure it's easy but I don't know much about it, and I doubt I'm the only one.

Welcome to 🤡🌏
I've been here for fucking ages buddy, but thankyou.

Oh, for some reason I was thinking that a VPN wouldn't just obscure the user, but would be keeping the routing points from knowing they're handling Kiwifarms traffic, but I guess that would be impractical or impossible to run a VPN like that, wouldn't it...
Yeah, never mind, I think I get why what I was thinking makes no sense.

I wish I didn't agree with you, but yeah... I think you're right.

Please be patient, I'm retarded and can't tell if serious or le memes.

Is the number really meaningfully dropping, or is that a normal pattern over the course of a day with opening and closing and whatever?
I'm pretty sure it was normal for 2022-11-02, even GOOG, GME, and AAPL dipped at the end of the day. The whole Dow Jones ended lower than it started that day.

Bork Bork! not so! some of us know how to use Tor : p

  1. Open https://www.torproject.org/download/
  2. Select your operating system.
  3. Open the install package/file.
  4. Follow the prompts to install Tor browser.
  5. Open Tor Browser.
  6. Click "connect"
  7. Wait a bit for the browser to connect to the Tor network.
  8. Copy and paste http://kiwifarmsaaf4t2h7gc3dfc5ojhmqruw2nit3uejrpiagrxeuxiyxcyd.onion/ into the Tor browser URL bar.
  9. Press enter.
  10. The site should load (though it might take a bit longer than a clearnet site)
  11. Bookmark the page so that you can access it without copy-pasting the URL (note that the bookmarks bar is hidden by default, if you start typing "kiwifarms" into the URL bar it will autocomplete, but only if you have it bookmarked)
It's quite easy really. On iOS, you'll need Onion Browser to access the site.

Manning and Snowden are examples of what can happen if there are ways to get the info distributed. A social wikileaks would be the last thing the glow wants.
Glenn Greenwald has been unpersoned as well but not nearly to the same extent. He was quickly vilified after reporting on leaked information that potentially damaged establishment political candidates.

If you are too lazy for the tor browser bundle solution, you can use brave browser's "new private window with tor" feature and input the tor address. I wouldn't use brave's tor implementation for anything potentially illegal though.

VPNs are just computers on the internet, they need the same backbones, and they can fail.

If you've ever heard of people talking about needing a China friendly proxy to get past the great firewall... Part of that is location/speed, but part of it is that proxies don't always work in that environment.

If you've ever used tor, it also gives you the option to configure a bridge or something on first start - that is because in some places the tor network is blocked and you essentially need a proxy to access it. Which yes, I know tor isn't a traditional proxy, but it's serving a similar purpose here.

I can't mobile tor anymore, browser doesn't have something it needs to get past the DDoS mitigation. So to my knowledge the plan for after EU cucks and VPNs break but before I can tor on a proper browser is:

  • Telegram for KF updates and MATI updates
  • If brave enough to use a phone number, there is also a telegram chat somewhere
  • There is some shitposting on poa.st (which can be accessed from the Fediverse in general)
  • Kiwifarms.cc may or may not be back
Any other places worth checking?

@Null, I know you have a lot on your mind right now, and I respect the hell out of you, for all that you've done... but it might be a good idea to feature a post telling people how to use tor...

Sadly I can't do this tonight, but I'll save it.

I wish you luck Null, thanks for doing everything you can to keep the site up.
Let's hope that this isn't coming to an end for us. For quite a while this site has been great for providing information on the horrors that some individuals do that are consistently being kept under wraps due to their political affiliation, sexual orientation, gender or mental illness. While some bad eggs have gone out of their way to make stuff extremely hard for us to continue working on ensuring people are informed about dangerous or disgusting individuals I'm sure there will be another way to continue letting Kiwifarms live on. Even through another proxy.

The fanatics going and trying to shut Kiwifarms down are desperately trying to remove this site as it is effectively providing "Cancel Culture" against them and a bunch of individuals that they align with.
They cannot handle the fact that they are wrong and time and time again the world continues to show how the far left can't take what they can dish out. They continue to actively shut down people from the right or people who aren't visibly affiliated with a political stance yet as soon as they do something they don't like.
Even if they manage to rid of us they will only eat themselves alive as they continue to try to maintain higher standards on their narrative of cancel culture and what it should be, effectively removing what they would even define as "Free Speech" for themselves.

It isn't up to me but I would recommend making the site private and only visible to those with an account, disabling new registrations and monitoring or disabling registration via invites at least while these whole shenanigans continue, along with maybe trying to provide a more private means of news updates to those who are active on the site, as the people who are trying to actively fight against the site are most likely in knowledge of this stuff and will continue to actively try to get it shut down. Coming back with something that won't be able to get shut down would be the most optimal method in my opinion, and would give you less time worrying about constantly trying to switch between service providers and hosts.

All in all, I wish you luck once again Null. I hope that this can be sorted out and that we can no longer worry about having the site taken away. The light has been shined on a bunch of shitty people thanks to The Farms and I'd hate to see all of that hard work from the staff of the site and the many other users helping provide information and content go to waste.

Thank you for all your hard work man. Godspeed.

In southern US, using comcast and can't connect.

On one hand, I want to say this is a technical glitch. Even if trannies could get an ISP to do this, they wouldn't be able to coordinate it in such a fashion so quickly.

On the other, why would it only be happening to kiwifarms?

In the UK and only just managed to get on clear net. Tor isn’t working for me on iPhone either have downloaded many different browsers and each time I get the page ‘checking for robots’ and then either get ‘browser does not support web assembly’ or the site just fails to load. Was working before so this seems to be a new problem.

Is it just an iPhone issue with getting on the tor site? Glad to be back on clear net but not sure how long this will last.

Long live Kiwi Farms 🌈🌈
