The slight good news are, many parents are pulling their kids out of public schooling, these leftoids cannot create worth a damn so most of their attempts to create good little Tumblrites are very obvious and sadly it will take around 15-20 years to undo this shit. It was more normal, yes, but if you go back and watch some media from then- especially "deep cuts," not just your handful of personal favorite movies or episodes- you can see it.
All the offhand filth shoved into every "blockbuster" movies aimed at 7 year olds, even then, like how they had to start off ET with "penis breath."
It's also easier to notice if you watch stuff aimed at women, because that's always where this stuff starts. Women are designed (due to our hunter-gatherer origins as a species) to be more socially suggestible than men, more susceptible to subtle cues about what's good and acceptable, what gains you status within the group.
Look at some old episodes of Golden Girls and Designing Women. Murphy Brown was a big one, though that was later. Songs of the Madonna and Cyndi Lauper genre. Look into the lyrics and the music videos, what they were starting to promote. And then at the end of the 80s, in the early 90s, there was the overt "lesbian chic" campaign with K.D. Lang and all of that.
When I started public school at some point in the 80s, they did a "getting to know you" exercise about favorite music. Almost every boy said Springsteen or Bon Jovi. Almost every girl said Madonna or Cyndi Lauper.* These were six year olds. Think on that one.

This is something you can see in American history books within Public Schooling in particular. Communist atrocities? Downplayed and merely a footnote. And as one of the Communist's goals is to drive a wedge between man and God, they began mocking the church with light jests until it turned into full-on parodies as seen in the 90s and outright hatred in the 00s.
Its key to remember that the subversion of the US happened way, way earlier. Roughly around the same time the Soviet Union was around in full force. Lastly, if they went full-on SJW back in the 80s, they would have been hunted and killed like what happened in Indonesia when Suharto came to power.

That documentary is eye opening by the way and something anyone who wants to learn both sides of the story behind the lead up to WWII should watch at least once.
The degeneracy of the Weimar Republic was a huge factor behind the rise of the National Socialists, and it's almost impossible not the see the similarities between Weimar Germany and the West today. When you see the depth of evil of these people, and how they embrace all kinds of immorality and deviance it makes the responding backlash a lot more easy to understand, and seeing the capture of institutions and and bias in modern media makes you question just how much of the story we have been told is true. History has always been written by the winners, and the truth is usually found somewhere in the middle.
Maybe a kids book about the Painter would be a little too on the nose, but I fully agree that Conservatives have made a huge mistake almost ceeding the education system to Leftist libshit fanatics. The reason they feel so comfortable going this mask off and pushing this foul shit on children is they have had very little push back.

I noticed that even before Current Year, there was at least some fixation on "identity" such as race and sex "gender" in America. Now a religion to SJWs since Occupy fell.

You have a point. Pre-2008 there was a fixation of being 'politically correct'. And making sure identities are respected and correct terms are used. Sure they don't maul you with it like they do in Current Year, but it existed.

One example was the pocket monster Jynx.
