The $30k for bail indicates he's far from rich. Bail is supposed to be set relative to your wealth, if he was as rich as he claimed his bail costs would be in the millions.

I think it's fake, but if he's real and it was just for a stolen phone there's no way they're going to set bail that high.

Isn't being sent to the psych ward supposed to be a better alternative to regular prison? Idk but I'm with the ruse theory, the records "disappeared" and can't be found judge something something right.
Plus, REAL fake internet millionaires piss like this:

Deagle Nation was a passion project by a man who loved us. That's why it got so much from it. So much work went into it without without any material gain or any attempts to really make any reasonable project and in fact it cost money. I even hear these days that its actually still real.
This is completely different. This is a small amount of readily fakeable online content that has led to hundreds of thousands of followers. On some level I could accept that this is a real asshole rich guy in a persona that has taken over, but with what little I've seen I'm all but certain its some wise guy trying to get famous.
The IPhone thing could him being a douchbag and finally getting what's coming to him and he's trying to play it off, but who knows.

This behavior is actually really common among rich kids.

I'm just praying for a recession to land these kids in hilarious abject poverty

If he considers bottles of mineral water expensive and worth showing off I'm guessing he's not actually rich.

That bathroom picture pretty much sells me on it being a ruse. My wife did catering for a while, and I got to go to some very rich people's houses. "Helicopter in the back garden" rich. Nothing in those houses looked anywhere near as cheap and basic as that bathroom. Bare walls, white ceramic toilet - wouldn't happen.

If this guy is meant to be superrich, where's the Italian marble? Where's the nude statue of him as a Greek god?

I think a lot of them are just trolls trying to get TV shows or other recognition. Some of them may legitimately be as sociopathic as they appear online, but I think it's mainly a ruse. If you can't be loved, why not be hated? And you have shows like the Kardashians, The Hills and the Rich Kids of Beverly Hills which are reality shows in the loosest sense and you'll get kids trying to imitate it.

The burning hatred they generate is pretty lulzy.

Why the fuck would he steal a credit card if he's so rich? Is he just that much of a butthole?

Rich and spoiled people will do incredibly stupid things and just say 'I'm rich I can do whatever I want'.

I just heard of this guy and he seems fake as hell, but he is not the worst ever, not by a long shot. I suggest you look up Ethan Couch for some really horrific shit. Ethan is a super-spoiled rich alcoholic kid who got drunk, stole a truck and then killed four people in a drunk driving accident. When the police arrived, he basically said he didn't regret what he did and that his money would get him out of trouble.

Crazy thing is, he's sorta right. Instead of going to a proper prison, he went to a resort like 'reform school' or something like that. It's a place with swimming pools, beautiful lawns and even fricken horses. Horses! This guy is only there for a few years and he's going to live far better than even some upper middle-class people. If that doesn't piss you off, nothing will.

It would be illegal and unconstitutional to have a bail of millions for a stolen iphone. It violates the 8th amendment against cruel and unusual punishments, and against excessive fines and bail. Just because he's rich, doesn't mean you can charge millions for a petty crime.

There is also no guarantee of bail at all so people ignore that whole 8th amendment. In fact there's a huge multi billion dollar industry off of giving out bail loans to poor people who are being blatantly fucked in ways that the amendment was supposed to protect. They can set it as high as they want and need to to prevent people from running off.
That being said I've never heard of rich people having huge bonds just for being rich, the high bonds are when someone is clearly gonna try and escape not because they're rich. A $30,000 bond over an iPhone I expect would be reasonable for a rich guy depending on the judge. I still think he's faking but idk why his bail proves one way or another they aren't specifically supposed to look at how wealthy you are.

Really has to be a fake, he's trying waaaaaaaay too hard. Plus, no one with millions is going to "show off" by dumping <$100 worth of bottled water, he'd be tossing Dom Perignon or luxury scotch or something like that at least.

Yeah we'd at least see a $100 asswipe. Oh wait...

This is the part that makes me laugh:

Remember Welcome Back Kotter? Every time sweathog Juan Epstein missed school, he would bring in a note asking that he be excused that was signed "Epstein's Mother".
