Because many moons ago, James said he wasn't gonna watch the female ghostbusters. This has permanently painted him as an alt right chud that needs to be destroyed by any means necessary.

I like James because he's the "least lolcow" lolcow I've ever seen.
He's a good husband, father, does not politisperg for either side, and knows how and when to shut up.
I think his age is what makes him this way, if James were born in the early 90s, he'd be different. Even JonTron got involved in some shit a few years ago.
I know AVGN isn't what it once was as a show, but still, James as a person is a literal normie in comparison to many others.

Yeah, he gave his political opinions on a podcast and all the usual people tried to ruin his life. Not really much of a "lolcow" thing. The James autobiography is full of things worse than that.

James is like one of the oldest, least offensive (as long you don't mind toilet humor), non-confrontational youtubers around. Honestly the only "lolcow" thing James does is he pretends that he still has hair on top on his head. Other than that, he's always been a pretty normal and likable guy.

Good husband? Maybe. Nobody really knows what goes on in his house because he is smart enough to maintain a lot of privacy. He has always come across as a cuck though and that isn't a "good husband".
Good father? Yeah, seems like it. Putting your kids first and bragging about them occasionly is the sign of a good parent. He keeps them private while being an e-celeb and that is good too. After avgn I started watching Pat's podcast for a while til I realized it totally sucks and usually crosses into the negative realm of relevancy. I still think his older review videos are fun and a good counterpoint to classic avgn. Then he got old and fat. Although it is his horrible narcissism that became the permanent turn-off.

Why would James or anyone on his corner do anything? Being an annoying liberal fuckhead is frowned upon way more today than it was back in in 2016 when he made his "lol, aint watching it Ghostbusters 2016" video, and even back then people were saying wokesters were making a molehill out of nothing because it was a harmless video where he didnt bring any politics, simply he doesnt want to financially support the idea of remaking one of the greatest comedies of all time as there will never be able to replicate the OG's charm.
If there is something these people do well is making jackasses out of themselves, especially if their targets either wisely do nothing or have the perfect comeback (otherwise, dont bother, dont argue with them, dont apologize to them).

It goes to show why they didnt cover elections much after that, or at least didnt bet their own plotline on an outcome they couldnt predict accurately.
Either way, Jontron learned the hard way he isnt good at debates and that you shouldnt get involved in that scene in the first place. He won by learning from this and staying in his corner, being entertaining and avoiding getting involved in politics as much as possible.

Doug seems satisfied in making his reviews that will always be watched by his recurrent fans and staying out of the spotlight for the most part. He did find some level of stability and not having to tard wrangle other narcissistic men children reviewers is a plus.
