It's like a big convention for "le reddit" type hackers, less so the "real" hackers but probably just because they're not as vocal as the Mald types.
I was more of a weekend warrior but I can tell you right now CCP do not give that much of a shit to target people arbitrarily for things like helping them bugfix.
I won't say it'll change your life, but if you like RPGs and can handle it being dated (came out in 1995), I'd say give it a shot. Cartridge's probably go for too much because the Internet is OMG EARTHBOUND!, so cart, rom, whatever you can do. I'd also say, it's okay to use a guide, because there are some parts and dungeons that are straight up mazes and hard as hell to navigate; or that could've just been me being a retarded 11 year old.
You get all flavors of person; IT / Security Professionals of all ranks, actual hardcore hackers, script kiddies, vendors, normies, and more. It's an INFOSEC convention, with puzzles/challenges for people who want to sign up for them; the feds also go, as you'll see NSA, FBI, and sometimes CIA have a booth that says something like "solve our puzzle, and let's talk about a job" or something like that. It's not just puzzle and jobs, you'll have venues about big hacks, new technology, and a number of other things, so even if you're not a L33T HAX0R but in the IT field, there's plenty of info to absorb.
