Did you mean to keep both the note in parenthesis and the paragraph at the end? I feel like it would punch better in place of the edit note, but that's just me I guess.

Also do the edit time limits increase with account age? I have like an hour or something.
Edit: this post got report and delete buttons, which i assume is that increasing.
FINE one last edit for the night I am preserving the paragraph. and opting out of the parentheses. NO MORE I HAVE DONE ENOUGH GLASS MAN.

HeartBound takes its name from EarthBound, which had a 5-year development cycle—a long time for its era, especially considering the technology back then. In comparison, HeartBound has already taken longer to develop, despite the modern tools available today that make creating EarthBound-like games much faster.
Hundreds of different Earthbound-inspired RPGs have been made in half or even a quarter of the time. Hell, there's even been a good one or two. Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass was also made entirely by one person: art, code, music, writing, everything. Kasey Ozymy did it all by himself and it was made in 4 years and it's 40 hours long. James just does not want to make a game. There's no reason to when resting on his laurels as a popular streamer pays so much more and only requires that he pretends to want to make a game.

In 164 hours of video, and after spending 6-7 hours over two nights reviewing it (that I can never get back), I found that Thor spent 163 hours and 45 minutes not working on HeartBound, with only 15 minutes of actual 'attempts' to work on it. This feels like a case of Yanderdev 2.0, maybe even worse. I checked as thoroughly as I could—Thor genuinely only tried working on HeartBound for 15 minutes.
God damn dude this guy has almost every advantage you could have as an aspiring "Indie Dev", all the free time in the world and making a shit ton of money from your retarded youtube channel to fund yourself, and still the MOST he can do for his "big game project" in a 164 hour window is spend 15 minutes struggling to open fucking Game Maker? What a fag.

Put another way, that's only ~0.15% of the time he spent streaming.

Unless we are to believe that Thor is making a game that needs that time of development (I.E a much larger scope than both Undertale and Earthbound).
From my understanding he is attempting to make something that is rather complex as he wishes to make every action result in a consequence that effects how the game and story play out. So to be fair, that is a very difficult task to achieve. To be rational, it's completely fucking retarded to believe he can do this when his code standards are fucking abysmal. Now, in reference to the example code OP posted, I haven't looked into what language he is using, but why is he manually setting every array value to 0 when you can just do that in a for-loop? Please correct me if I'm wrong about that. I get the impression he completely fucked up the initial code structure so he's forced to do retarded shit like manually initialising values for arrays.

It's game maker. I've never used the language, but that probably isn't necessary. He's likely just doing it to put comments alongside each entry.

More importantly, he wouldn't have to do anything like that if he didn't make a completely retarded dialogue system. Its not just that he designed himself into a corner, but also he's an idiot and will continue designing himself into corners while not realizing he's doing it... if he ever works on it that is.

only tried working on HeartBound for 15 minutes.
It's really funny to meme that it's his "magnum opus", a deviantart asset flip made in game maker that has "been in the works" for over half a decade. It's both so sad and hilarious at the same time.

Thor thinks this is working on his game.
it's not
> "Shaye is our artist"
Wait, he's paying someone do this shitty art? NIGGER WHAT!?

> "...style font and I built that so that people with dyslexia can read it"
Standard fonts already has that in mind, I doubt that his font is better or even actually eases the reading for people with dyslexia. Considering his and the "artists" artistic level is on pair with an elementary school hobby doodler, it's just a shitty font.

> "every environment is built for every kind of color blindness"
When doing pixel/cartoon art, you work with making sure contrasts works well (to make sure it works in black and white). "Color blindness" modes are for more cluttered/busy mediums that has game mechanics that are color based (team mates vs. enemies is an obvious example), his game does not have that! That his contrast works well in that purple smudge filter is not a "color blind feature".

What a pseudo grifter he is! This is some proper cow material right there.

That and I think it looks like shit, he really should've just paid some pajeet a few dollars for one, or hell, use any of the free ones, it will look infinitely better.

Great OP. You might want to clean up the few grammatical/spelling errors in the OP as I have a feeling this will be on MATI as PirateGames is a huge youtuber.

I actually enjoy some of PirateGames' odd takes in his shorts. Why do all youtubers have to turn out to be tranny furry nepotism faggots?

You have to be kidding. I was under the assumption he was writing his own engine given that he's spent over 8 years making this thing. Jesus christ...
I thought it was a custom engine and C myself until I saw the multidimensional arrays.
Given the scope of what the engine even needs to do in a game like this, I wouldn't even add much time for it to have one (given a competent developer).

It would be funny if he thinks he has FNSS, but it actually was a misdiagnosis and he is just tired AF all the time. Would at least explain, why he doesn't do any work.

Anyways. I really don't like the guy. When I first saw his clips I didn't think much about it, but the more I saw the more I thought hes a talentless hack. He would've never got a job without his dad, he'll never finish his game (I doubt he can even code), but he will always sit on his high horse spewing his shitty takes.

Also what a shitty take on storing passwords. "I'm so quirky! I keep my passwords stored in images!". Just get a password manager and stop being a fraud!

I get his youtube clips in my feed all the time. He has some coding environment/ editor open in most of these (before transitioning to paint to visually aid whatever tangent the short is about of course) and I'd assumed he did in fact code in his streams based on the fact. I wouldn't have guessed it was this bad. I wonder if it's 100% a facade or if he genuinly means to progress but can't for whatever reason. The most important question is left unanswered; What did he do in those 15 minutes of divine interference?

It was answered in the notes I'm just lazy and missed it by skipping them
I too have notepad ++ and have 20 years of coding experience
(I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing I just told it I was using a coding language for this file)

Now let me draw on the screen and expunge my 20 years wisdom to you all.
"So as you can see guys, this is why video games are made. And how I saved a bunch of people from getting fired at blizzard.
I had to go into the lead programmer's office. And I just added one line, one line they had totally overlooked.
"Create game" And World of Warcraft was made."

"No you don't understand, he had covid years ago. That's why the game is taking so long now. "
Yeah that long covid that lasts 4 years. This is just speculation because it's been a month or 2 since I would have seen it but I swear there is a clip he uploaded where he says he's still suffering from it.

Everytime his shorts pop up I watch it to see what retarded shit he going to say. I'm positive you could make a 5 minute compilation of all the times he has said long covid.
