I haven't been checking in on mald cause it's become too unbearable but I saw this


The ceo of mald's most anticipated mmo ashes of creation (who I'm suspicious of having been given blowjobs by mald) is taking flak for not taking criticism well and fought with a content creator about his game. Apparently the ytber has a problem with the game's development. Something about devs doing video updates to showcase feature B but feature A is needed for feature B but feature A isn't even done so people are accusing that these updates are just scripted garbage that isn't actually working. I could be wrong here, just read through the thread cursorly

Not sure if the ytber got banned or he chose to remove himself from the game's 'development' but reddit is split. One side thinks dude is power tripping and unbecoming (game owner having control of the subreddit, locking threads and banning people from the subreddit, going to yt videos to fight critics, etc) while the other is bootlicking this behavior. Typical crowdfund/vaporware mmo cope.

God, I really hate how any specific game talk goes to either reddit or discord now. Wouldn't have seen this if I didn't have to look up reddit.

edit: lmao, was about to close the tab and saw something. the ytber is also retarded. apparently he bet everything on this game and focused his content on only this game but now he couldn't pay rent because the game is shit or something and he seethed at the game's state. hence the spat with andrew, the game's owner/ceo.
I was looking forward to AoC but seeing this faggot attach himself to the project for clout, ignore it's fundamental game design and demand Steven change the guild size so he can have his Zerg guild dominate left a bad taste in my mouth. Seeing Stephen gravitate towards this gay parasite because of this recent controversy makes me very worried for the future of Ashes of Creation. I like that it's more focused on PvP. I like the node system, I like guilds being smaller to deter Zerging. I don't like how Stephen is using Narc's retardation and autism to deflect legitimate criticism and cozy up to disgusting furry degenerates like Jason who will sink Ashes when he decides Stephen isn't sucking him off enough.

His ingame chat log is censored, but its full of purple (Whispers/Direct Messages).
His mouse keeps going down to it, then a report message pops up.
So he's getting shit on in game and in twitch chat.

While watching he proposed one of the most scuffed pulls I've ever heard of, messed it up, and while everyone ran out started a Blizzard cast that he didn't let tick.
He's absolutely going to get distracted and let someone else die and its going to be hilarious.

'm a programmer aswell, on the side i've been modding so many games that this kind of code is entirely inoffensive to me, i've come to the general conclusion that unless the code is unusually slow or slows down the programmer's feature addition speed, then structure doesn't matter as it's then strictly a matter of taste and comfort

Go read the Doom source (a great example of actual pragmatism in engineering), or go watch a Jblow or cmuratori stream, go watch Thecherno on YouTube, or a talk by Mike Acton, Andrew Kelley, John Carmack, pretty much fucking anyone who's ever shipped an actual product that actually works, game or otherwise. All the people I just mentioned would take one look at Jason's resume project here and walk away. "Quick-n-dirty" code like this is acceptable when you're first scoping out a project, but 8(?) years in, when you have a bajillion lines of dialogue, it's just retarded and "I've seen worse" is not an excuse. We've all seen worse, but not from people posing as gurus to hundreds of thousands of people. Please take the L.

Being able to code in 6+ languages is just showing you're not limited to certain fields, and don't just end up clueless if you have to work on a new language, it's basic-ish but it's compact for the wordcount it has.
