Whatever random garbage this guy said
Please, I'm begging you. Stop posting, its tiring seeing your stupid shit on this post. I don't care, nobody else has cared in 2 days & no one will care.
Sup. Has anyone actually tried to test his "cyber security" knowledge? Like he's so retarded I think you can fish him, because he strikes me as a redditor that can't apply his autistic nerd knowledge at all. Probably a gooner furry email could help, so the lust for glorified rats clouds his judgment?
I'll give you 3 examples.
First, the Crowdstrike incident. He actually kinda starts off in the right direction and in some defense to him this was still I believe in the first 48 hours?
However, even at this time this information was dead fucking wrong. In fact in the first 30 seconds he talks about Microsoft pushing a patch. This makes no fucking sense, Microsoft in most cases will always push its KBs on patch Tuesday, anyone whose been a Sysadmin for Windows devices, knows this type of schedule. I like many other people worked on this incident involving Crowdstrike and while I can't line up when this Podcast aired to the Crowdstrike incident, His blatantly wrong here and those with industry knowledge generally knew within 3-6 hours that Crowdstrike was the main issue here.
Secondly his "Password Management".
Yes, you can do this. But there is a reason why nobody does. Its fucking retarded. 90% of Sysadmins worth there salt will use a normal password management application. Keepass 2 being an example. This is not a password management solution, this is someone trying to be random = funny. Security people can be autistic as fuck, but if I saw a colleague do this I'd performance manage them out the next day for wasting time.
Third, The Stingray Device
I just found this and its fucking Loony Bins if this is true. The rule of thumb with foreign / unknown devices is that you preserve the data that exists on it. If you believe its could be off a criminal nature, you create a chain of custody, keep the device on, isolated and under custody until you hand it to an individual that will forensically investigate or transport it.
If what he said is true, then that evidence would not be presentable in a court of law. His admitted to tampering with the device, somehow getting root access and then dumping logs and doing other shit. I don't think I would know anyone that would touch a device in this manner if they knew it was going to be turned over to the authorities for a split second. Also while there are absloute retards at DEFCON, I cannot believe for a second that any of this happened.
There are NO media reports of this at all. When there was an arrest a few years ago, (the Wannacry guy), he got his face plastered everywhere and everyone knew. If someone can find anything, hook a brother up.
I am not an avid watcher and this is from a 20 minute search. Annoyingly he rarely if ever dives into anything more than surface level, which makes it hard for him to fuck up and looking quite smart & smug. If I find anything else in my spare time, I'll post it for lulcow shennanigans.
