In a twist of irony, Mald made me start coding again. I've been slowly chipping away at a Twitch chat archival tool, similar to what @LGTV posts. The Twitch API shows you which messages have been deleted, which can easily be logged.

So far I have gotten it to authenticate and join the chat, the only major things left are formatting and saving the logs, and packaging it into a somewhat usable form. I should probably be able to finish it in a day or so.

Is there a need for such a tool here? If so, what extra features/config options would you Kiwis want?

Lovely! Stats on the amount of deleted msgs and banned accounts per stream would be fun to see from Mald and similarly trigger-happy cows.

Also content of deleted messages, if possible?

Alsoalso, can you fetch the info on the age or activity level of the banned accounts? Mald claims he is banning new accounts and trolls, but if we can prove otherwise that would be neat.

I don't know whether the IRC endpoint I'm using shows you when the stream itself starts/ends. I can probably do that through a separate EventSub subscription, but I don't want to overscope. I'll see when I get to it.
EDIT: While KF was down, I decided to check the docs. I don't think the IRC endpoint sends that data, but there's an EventSub endpoint for that, and it doesn't even require authentication! Will add that to the TODO list, cheers!

Twitch shows you those. Also, the message IDs, so I can just mark them as deleted in the output file.

Way out of scope, sorry.

Does the twitch API show first time chatters?

I use Chatty. it kind of tells you when a stream is online:
# Log started: 2025-02-04 01:01:29 -0500
[2025-02-04 01:01:29] Connecting to
[2025-02-04 01:01:30] ~Stream offline~
[2025-02-04 01:01:30] Joining #piratesoftware..
[2025-02-04 01:01:30] You have joined #piratesoftware
The Joining #piratesoftware.. message happens every time the stream goes live.

At the end of a stream I get:
[2025-02-04 15:42:06] ~Stream offline~

At random points (Might not be random, I don't know what exactly triggers this) viewer counts get added to the log IE:
[2025-02-04 15:41:37] VIEWERS: 9,505

It also has messages to indicate that someone was banned:
[2025-02-04 03:09:56] BAN: pYash99

While chatty logs deleted messages, in the app view it shows deleted messages with a strike through to indicate they have been deleted. However when it saves it to the log, it doesn't do anything to indicate that the messages were deleted. Deleted messages appear just like every other message.

Speaking of logs, I forgot to post this one today.

I think it does, but it needs testing.

Makes sense. I'd imagine Chatty utilizes EventSub for that, considering that it joins the chat after the stream goes live.

Yeah, I figured as much. I should probably make an option so that the program only outputs deleted messages.

More mentions of us in maldiecord, how sweet.
The funniest part to me about the Second Life shenanigans of his, is probably that story about how he went to the house of that artist, I don't think he groomed her (because he has absolutely no charisma or ability to do so), rather, I think he demanded she have sex with him, and she refused, which is why Mald, with a hurt ego, contrived some bullshit to get back at her and send her packing away from their furry modeling bussiness. It all makes sense!

Archive 👏 all 👏 stuff 👏 related 👏 to 👏 Mald. He and his jannies continue to delete and strike anything that can be used against him.
