It's not really that. The thing is that when Jason tells the same stories where other people are involved, it always must be in some way beneficial to his image.
So when he is talking about the Defcon challenges? Obviously HE was the one who was responsible for the team winning and obviously he is the smartest and bestest and without him they would've failed.
When he is talking about his work at Blizzard? He was the smartest and most valuable employee, and his team lead was always in awe of him. Totally.
When he is talking about him going to a job interview and they asked him to draw a diagram on a whiteboard, as a recruitment task? Oh, he totally told them that he's not going to, with his amazing charisma, and that instead he can just TELL them without drawing it. And they were in awe of his amazing intellect.
It's just the matter of framing himself in these stories. They are probably semi-true, but it's just the little details, obfuscation and distortion, just to make himself look bigger than he actually is.

Reminds me of how he went about streaming Animal Well. Pretty much the exact behavior you described, just in the context of streaming a game with really difficult puzzles. Game's got a wide range in its difficulty and a lot of the later puzzles require thinking outside the box, or straight up precognition with how convoluted they can get. Everyone was having a similar experience so obviously he needs to be the dude who's ~Super Amazing~ at it otherwise he doesn't seem "impressive".

So of course when tackling a lot of really difficult puzzles towards the end of the game he just magically gets them right on the first try every single time. Albino did a good video about it and went through some of the more egregious examples.

I really really can't overstate how funny that outcome would be. Both because he wouldn't really have to, since his game would be grandfathered in, and because it would demonstrate butthurt long after. But I could still see him doing that, dropping all efforts and blaming ross for "ruining him".

One thing I've learned from following PPP/Kino Casino is that you can get away with literally fucking ANYTHING as long as you are likable and entertaining enough. You can tell from those DMs with Charlie that he might not have even dropped the video shitting all over Mald at all if he hadn't spent 2 hours annoying the everloving shit out of him. Dr. K wasted hours trying to get him to be at least a little bit self aware, his WoW buddies are pissed at him for roaching them and taking no responsibility for it, and even Ludwig might be considering throwing him under the bus. All of his streamer buddies are sick of him. I have no doubt that a large portion of the signatures for SKG are from people who just want to see Mald lose. Good I hate seeing this dumb niggers face. The sooner his prospects dry up, the sooner he has to move out of his mansion and inevitably blow the top of his goofy ass head off, and the happier ill be. Knowing someone as talent less, fat, ugly, stupid and abrasive as him is out there being idolized is almost too much to bear. I think a lot of people have been growing resentment against him after the WoW/AoC garbage. He showed he's not capable of teamwork or diplomacy. Also everyone and I mean everyone IS FUCKING SICK OF SEEING HIS CRINGE ASS MS PAINT SHORTS!
