Earlier in thread, I was wondering what Jason's budget was purely because 8 years for a pixel art game seemed really strange to me especially when its a game that, as far as I've seen, doesn't really have much going for it. Like I won't sit here and lie to anyone, the game's characters look well drawn and some of the animations are okay looking. But the most you're doing in the game is just fucking walking to places and talking to people. It's not that hard to write a story and then to implement that into a game with NPCs talking and shit. So to have all this take 8 years and let's be honest it's probably going to get bumped up to 9 at this point, the effort given by Jason must be super low along with the money.

It's funny that Jason is obviously trying to copy many creators and what they have but he just can't do it correctly because, well, he's Jason Hall. He's not Markiplier, unproblematic deep voiced gaming personality who puts silly faces on his thumbnail. He's not Toby Fox, game developer with a vision of taking things from older games and making something new while putting in heavy messaging about hope and life (undertale took Toby something like 2 years btw, with help). He can try and try but he'll never be these people that are for the most part beloved online. Because again, he's Jason Hall. Better yet, he's Maldavius Fagtree. The furfaggot who hired a minor and then fired her, put a clay gnome up his ass, acts smug whenever he fucking can, and acts like he's the smartest indie game dev to ever exist. I think the worst part arguably is that Jason will never truly see the error of his ways. Everyone else is a shit stirring, chat hopping, slur saying troll. It's everyone else's fault that there are people calling him a jackass all the time. At the end of the day, Jason will smell like ferret shit and sweat and wonder to himself why such a loving and gentle person gets all this flak.

One of the things that maybe hasn't been discussed a ton (maybe it has, but I haven't been following SKG religiously) are how things can come back and be rediscovered or new things can come from 'dead' games.

This isn't meant to spark a debate on quality or whatever but Josh Strife Hayes' series where he goes and looks at dead MMOs and just does a deep dive on them is fascinating stuff and can serve as a time capsule into design ideas/trends or give a look into something that could become lost media or giving new life to something.

There's so many reasons why giving the tools to preserve a game is important.

Shame such a big brain egghead like Maldy is too fucking myopic and can only see the ferret scarred fissures of his asshole as he huffs his own farts.

And I don't even think he's part of the fucking AAA community as an agent or whatever. The dude has no serious game dev skills.
