Jim Sterling / James "Stephanie" Sterling / James Stanton/Sexton & in memoriam TotalBiscuit (John Bain) - One Gaming Lolcow Thread

To be fair to Jim, the Jimquisition isn't likely just a one-day affair. Even if all he does is the script writing. that could take up a lot of time. There have probably been scripts he got done in just a day or two and others where he was editing and restarting right up until Sunday night. Plus, once upon a time, he'd even upload two Jimquisitions in a week in case he either had a topic to cover right then and there (what a novel concept) or had something so irrelevant (even for him) that there was no justifying it was a Monday video.

They say you're only as good as your last thing, and the last few years have destroyed the perception of someone who once actually put a lot of effort into his online job. If reaction images weren't banned, I'd add the "Super F" from Fairy OddParents.
You can sometimes tell when he writes his script based on topical things he says or stuff that is referenced on his twitter/bluesky, I'm certain there are more than a handful of JQs that were one-day affairs based on this.

So apparently there's a demo out for the new Dynasty Warriors game, the first in that specific series since the widely-loathed 9. You may recall Jim was at the forefront of bashing that game and saying it ruined the series.
Personally, given their history with it, I think it'd be interesting to see them talk about the game (at least prior to its planned January release). It's too bad they don't really do Jimpressions videos anymore.

played the demo myself. Its a very different take on the DW series so old fans will either like it or hate it. I myself think its rather good with a few faults such as moral micromanagement.

Even just from reading the little Steam blurb it is immediately obvious this is written by a group of men who have no idea how actual women think or act. Wives are just cute little dolls you dress up, right??

To me I'm not even sure what they're going for. It's like Chris' Random Access Humor combined with I'm so le smart and quirky. If they're trying to imitate women then good job, they're so far removed from anything I know about women, or literally anything else I come across in my regular life, I can only think of them as a bunch of fucking weirdos.

Surprised no one's posted this considering it's over an hour old. I can't shit on him tbh I just don't feel cynical enough, just turned the Christmas lights on, month exactly to go and all that shit. Just another monday feel free to go back to talking about gaming in general really.

Ask and ye shall receive

I didn't know they were still making Dynasty Warriors game.

It's also objectively false. Right before his subscriber loss began he uploaded a video that had a short segment at the start exploiting that he was ill and was not able to make a fresh video and instead was refloating one from The Escapist days that was particularly poignant at the time. While he technically managed to upload that day, I don't feel like having to have a re-upload means that you hate your mark. I cannot find the video at this time but I believe it was approximately 5 to 6 years ago.
Perfect Pasta Sauce (The Jimquisition REMASTERED)

7 years ago, so you were close. It's only 'remastered' in the sense that the still images that make up the bulk of the video were changed to have the then-current borders and branding around them. The audio is untouched, right down to it still having that melancholy backing music he used in every JQ back in the day.

My guess is he just downloaded the original video using a YouTube to MP4 converter website (I'd be shocked if he keeps an archive of the originals anywhere), made minor edits, added the retarded intro and called it a day.

Never missed a Monday, though.

To be fair, if there ever was a justification to have to cheap out, it's being in the hospital.

I agree. Like if he said "In the last 10 years I missed one Monday and that's because I was hospitalized and I still put out a remaster" then I'd still say that's damn good. Though I still think for the sake of accuracy we should admit that his work load is more than just the Monday video. It's still a bit small, and if he was putting proper effort into his videos I'd assume he'd be doing midweek weekend type scheduling of when he's working.

Realistically his work schedule should look like Friday, Saturday, and Sunday he researches, writes, and films the Monday video based on the biggest thing from the previous week. Monday he monitors the fan reaction and plays the self promotion and community engagement game. Then record, edit, and schedule upload of Podquisition (oh wait LKD edits that) so it can release at a prime time on Tuesday as I believe that's the schedule. Tuesday would be recording, editing, and scheduling Boston's Favorite Son, which I believe is a Wednesday release. Then functionally take Wednesday and Thursday as his weekend. Every evening he should be playing games and working on reviews for a few hours a night. On slow work days he should also be streaming to keep that side of things going. He could easily work 5 day weeks at 8 hours a day pumping out content across multiple formats to fall out of relevance while living a very leisurely life. He's just too lazy to do that.

They'll never stop. That well is infinite so long as hardware keeps permitting ever more people on screen to slaughter per button press.
Not to mention it's the perfect formula to slap a bunch of shonen anime reskins on. The Gundam, One Piece, Berserk and Fist of the North Star musou games are all pretty good (except Ken's Rage 2, it was absolute trash).

If your series is known for one guy fighting hordes of baddies, a musou game is a no-brainer.
