My knowledge about Anisa and her husband is very limited, but if what I've read is true, then I'm more inclined to believe that Anisa would have been the one to offer Ian as payment.
Boomers being forced into adapting to zoomer speak is my favorite trope.
I played it for about 6 months, entirely f2p, just to see why people are so obsessed with it. You hit a super hard wall (as expected) and the arena basically turns into every enemy team using the strongest characters (all given out for free during promotions that you weren't there for and have basically zero chance of obtaining now) that they've buffed up with real money.I played Raid out of morbid curiosity a few years ago and the only thing I remember is a massive pop up ad at the home area recreating early 2010s memes with the characters, advertising gem packs for £80-100.
I can see Idubbbz make a shity content cop against Billy Mitchell and somehow tie it back to kiwi farms under the command of his Husband Anisa.
Arena is the most pay to win thing in Raid, but if you have quests for it, just find the people who put a single level one champion as their defense to all people to quest farm them. For the most part you can skip the whole arena and play the PVE as a turn based game.I played it for about 6 months, entirely f2p, just to see why people are so obsessed with it. Maybe if the game had actual turn-based JRPG style mechanics it might be good but the whole, "you have x amount of attacks and they're on a hard cool down," essentially eliminates all strategy. Forcing you to pull the strong characters to stand a chance is typical but also ruins any fun you might have once you start the higher difficulty content.
It's no coincidence that every Raid ad is full of that one witch looking chick and half of them say their favorite character is some waifu or one of the starting characters.
EDIT: Almost forgot. One of the dailies is literally to play the game for 2 hours, if I remember correctly. Like, app open, actively running. Super manipulative of FOMO players.
Karl Jobst talked mad shit for 4 years after baiting Billy into suing him and got btfo with a life ruining judgment. No alog will ever be raped as hard as King Billy raped him. Additionally we got to watch the judge excoriate him for 45 minutes in the most condescending/snide manner full of kino allegories about air strikes and dragons. Nothing this year has been more funny. Generational L. I honestly can’t think of one that tops it.This is the best spread for the Julays in years. The past 2 years haven't been a contest for LOTY with how bad Rackets fucked his life up, but this year is looking tasty.
Karl Jobst is looking like a decent contender, but I think the competition is too strong for him.
For my money its:
1. iDubbbz (an absolute disaster of a year, one more major blowout will likely secure the win, but still leading in my books)
2. Karl Jobst (from smug but well respected to smug and universally mocked)
3. Pirate Software (from smug but generally respected to smug and universally reviled)
4. Johnny Somali (fucked around, found out.)
5. Rekieta (hasn't sunk much further but is still staining the bowl)
Bring on the voting, this years been a big one already.
It's only July, but consider the impact and the steady milk each once produces. A strong finish towards the end of the year can carry. This is the best spread for the Julays in years. Honestly, 2025 is the year of talk shit get hit. It's only July, but consider the impact and the steady milk each once produces. A strong finish towards the end of the year can carry.
I mean, yeah, but when I was testing it out I wanted to play it the way you were intended to. By the tail end of it I was in a solo guild and had started doing what you suggest.Arena is the most pay to win thing in Raid, but if you have quests for it, just find the people who put a single level one champion as their defense to all people to quest farm them. Jobst's downfall was all at once whereas Pirate's has been a series of missteps. Being able to savor Mald's downfall gives him an advantage in the lolcow olympics. (Idubbz and Rekieta had their major moments last year and prior, if I recall correctly, so I wouldn't choose them for 2025, and Johnny Somali is rather one note in that he was never liked/respected by anyone). This is the best spread for the Julays in years.
