To be fair, the whole leftist cultural criticism that mass media creates unrealistic and fantastical expectations of what men and women are supposed to be is true somewhat.

Not every man is going to be Brad Pitt/Conan the Barbarian/James Bond. They just aren’t. They aren’t going to be as successful with women, as physically attractive, they aren’t all going to “win the day”.

On the other hand they see media about how women can just confidently and smoothly snake through life. Being a girl boss is so easy, so simple, and to these broken men so so desirable.

So I think a lot of it does come from feelings of failure as a man and the notion that being a woman is just easier or more rewarding.

You’re right about there being a strong parallel but for the wrong reasons. Jurassic park was Micheal Crichton’s attempt at illustrating the dangers of “Corporate science”, a term almost literally synonymous with modern science mind you, and the dangers advancements in just about any field of science can hold when found for use by the greedy, and corrupt.

Hammond’s line “spared no expense” was a bit of irony in this sense, as he had very much cut corners and spared every expense he possibly could- going as far as hiring as little actual human help as possible and instead automating the entire park and controlling everything from the power, to the security from a single system.

He also wouldn’t allow the few researchers he had on site to do any fruitful research, as each Dinosaur costed an arm and a leg. He cared not for human deaths unless they could directly effect him, and hand waved any criticism as sheer nonsense.

Im sure by my description you can find the parallels to Stink ditch scientists..
