Star Allies bored me to tears, though honestly many Kirby games do. New one seems promising, feels fresh.
Yeah the main portion of Star Allies was very okay. I wish they would let you jump to the challenge modes and extra stuff right out of the gate because that is where most Kirby games really shine.

Best Nintendo franchise IMO.

64 is probably my favorite. Probably due to it being my first Kirby game and I have a lot of nostalgia attached to it but there is just something so undeniably charming about it to me even as a jaded thirty year old.

After that, it’s a toss up between Super Star, Nightmare in Dreamland and Return to Dreamland. Epic Yarn and Air Ride were great spin offs.

Heard Forgotten Land is supposed to be awesome, but I don’t have a Switch.

Edit: I know not everyone here like SMG4 style humor, but I couldn’t help but love this:

Kirby 64 was my favorite in the series until I played Planet Robobot. 64 is in a close second, still has a lot of nostalgia for me, and I wish they would have brought back the 2.5D gameplay instead of having subsequent Kirby games be straight-up 2D.

Also it has a great soundtrack:

Robobot is one of the best entries in the series. The Robobot Armor was fun to mess around with, and the game had a great selection of copy abilities, including one of the best copy abilities in the series with Poison. Would have loved to have seen it get an HD port on Switch.

I'm enjoying Forgotten Land. Haven't beaten it yet, but from what I've played so far it's already one of my favorite entries in the series. Between HAL Laboratory having said they want to make more Kirby games in this style, and FL having the biggest Kirby launch in Japan, it looks like there will be more games that follow this style going forward.
