It's very basic. Boss fight, but even basic is new for Ao oni.
If you get too close the screen will flash red once. If he hits you 3 times you die.
If we interact with the fires we some how magically spawn fire on the other side of it for a few seconds.
If you get one to spawn on him, or walk over it he takes a hit. 5 hits and you win. He also runs at you after every hit for like 3-5 seconds. Not much harder.
Yeah that was a disappointing boss fight.

Apparently getting burned five times only knocks you out, not gives you any degree of burns.
I guess the fire just whacked him with a club then burns him. Fucking Oni magic.

This whole little part is just a reference. Including with the door not unlocking till the hunchback is close to you.
We go back in after being chased out and.
They all gone how spooky. I really love the floor tiles. You can't step on those weird tiles they just act as cool walls.

Wait what? I was joking but this is retarded, i did not expect to technically be completely right (I did say "or for another reason is up and moving" which technically happened too. Rather then leave you all high and dry wondering how the fuck this story could end, I'll do the worst ending first.

I think rank is a combination of time and how many times you saved. No idea if high rank means anything other then bragging rights.
After beating the game you can save to get the key to that one room I showed off.

That curse sounds like the one in Corpse Party but in that case at least there was supernatural stuff happening during the whole game so it's not as out of place there, here it makes no sense since the dawn Oni is mindless and the curse is a retcon. Also i looked up ending 3/5 and there is a line about the curse getting stronger despite you know this people getting forgotten was established as already happening in the past in the notes so I don't know wtf the writer even tried to mean there.

I still don't get why the curse needs to be thing, and why the oni needs to be mindless.
Why can't the oni just be a asshole running a deadly mansion sized escape room, and why can't we just say the reason everything is unable to opened, is because the oni is just using his magic powers to keep the exits, and windows shut until you solve his nonsense puzzles.

BTW so you don't have to do it, I saw that ending 3/5 has a variable where only Hiroshi and Shun are near the ladder where shun tells Hiroshi that the curse force him to stay, no idea if any other ending has a variable like that
