Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

I don't know if is just me but Linus began to sound way more zoomer, gay and soy than usual in his latest videos. In some of his videos he looks more childish than his kids

I unironically look forward to the eventual downfall of Canada, and all his IoT devices get hacked and looters let themselves into his house because he not only needs "smart" devices, but needs them to operate wirelessly. I have no doubt that they make certain things in the home more convenient, but I'm not interested in leaving a metaphorical key laying around that anyone with a frequency analyzer can take advantage of.

I avoid all things wireless as much as possible for this exact reason. Wired is better and always will be.
I really hope that their z-wave home began to re-calculate everything in the middle of a busy night. Because his z-wave is ad-hoc and he has more switches in his mansion than I have of electronic things, it would take a few hours and everything would be slow because of it

I call bullshit on the "light switches causing 5ghz interference" thing - it really goes to show his utter incompetence and/or is just an opportunity for him to create another "smart" home series sponsored by Inovelli, the smart home product manufacturer he gives a random shot-out to in both of the recent smart home videos.

Lord knows he burned his bridge with Jasco, the manufacturer of his current switches, by yelling at some old bitty in customer service and making a video shitting on them for what was ultimately just him doing Z-wave wrong in Home Assistant.

He's using Z-wave devices for all of his switches, which operate at a frequency ludicrously far removed from 5ghz.

He even admitted disabling the switches didn't change shit in a pinned comment - though of course left the video unaltered with his "incredible" interference discovery. View attachment 4015335

Its clearly they stupid whole house audio system than rich people seem to love. zwave is 900 mhz and someone said somewhere (so you know its true) that it interferes with 5ghz. He thinks the speakers being 5ghz makes them sound better, I bet they'd sound the same on 2.4.

Its because all his original team no longer work for him and he has hired all faggot zoomers. Look at the editing, its all went to shit.

His problem is his wifi gear.
I've seen problems with APs using auto-channel. Some client devices don't like changing channels and will disconnect and not reconnect quickly. If he turns off that shit and just manually sets it to a specific channel and leaves it, that alone may clear up the problems.
Also not a fan of Rukus. Limited 2nd hand experience with them, but what I saw was their AP's performed way better in standalone mode than using their central controller.

And for fucks sake, that stupid tin foil cantanna is bullshit.
1. It may not even be blocking like he thinks
2. All those fucking crinkles in it are going to bounce the signals all over the place. He seriously could be seeing "interference" that doesn't actually exist just because the tin foil is bouncing shit around. If you want direction control, then get a directional antenna.

But again, none of this matters because he doesn't want to fix it, not yet. There's money to be made by making more videos of him stumbling around like a retard trying to figure it out.

If he actually fixes it all then he can't rake in money by making videos about how it doesn't work.

Maybe 8bit guy's autism of making everything connected to Ethernet was right all along.
And he was a network TI guy.

all his IoT devices get hacked
That won't happen with the home automation stuff, because he was at least smart enough to pick a system that doesn't just expose every device in your home to the internet and send all your data to china.

I use z-wave (and mostly zigbee, these days) for a bunch of home automation stuff. It's neat. Simple, low-power, doesn't interfere with anything. I've got lights that re-configure to different requirements depending on the time of day and what I'm doing, blinds that close automatically at night, that sort of thing. Controlling the heating through the system is next on my list, but that involves a fair amount of work to get it all operating properly. Lots of balancing radiators and figuring out where the best place to keep thermostats would be. I'm still only at the point of monitoring temperatures around the house.

It requires methodical, incremental changes to implement, which is clearly alien to how Linus works. He wants to do a big-bang change everything NOW assault, which means he's going to be faced with a thousand teething problems all at once, as systems interact in unexpected ways and components don't behave as he expects. Start with a dumb house and automate aspects over time, that's the way to do it.

Don't tell me you seriously consider wired mice superior. There is no tangible difference in response time, and the convenience of wireless mice is infinitely higher. I can't imagine still having a cable pulling pulling my hand and getting stuck and twisted. If all wireless accessories get on that level, the wired versions will become mostly obsolete for consumer use, as they should be.

There are exceptions obviously.

While i can concede that wireless mice are superior, how the fuck are you getting your mouse cable twisted without constantly rotating your mouse?

I don't have to replace batteries / charge anything, my mouse always works and there's no easily lost dongles or bluetooth fucking around to deal with.

Don't cover your desk with trash and the cord won't get snagged. You also pay more for the privilege of wireless and your mouse will become landfill sooner than mine as, if it has a lithium battery, it'll become worn out and they're not user replaceable. If it's powered by AAs, then it's just one leaky Alkaline away from being ruined.

Yeah, same here. I have a wireless mouse and my mousepad is a wireless charger. No need for a dongle because it connects to the mouse pad which is plugged in via USB. There are literally no drawbacks to my setup and not having cord drag from a wired mouse is a huge improvement that is worth the extra cost.

I wonder how much extra you paid to have "no drawbacks". You guys must be unbelievably autistic or doing something strange to get this bent out of shape over cord drag.

Anyway LMG has killed off their "They're Just Movies" show. Linus claims this isn't some cost cutting exercise and it was the team's decision to discontinue the show at the end of this year. Pressing X to doubt.

If you aren't on your PC 24/7, you can definitely find an hour to charge all your gear.

This just baffles me. He's showcasing a speaker. He doesn't say a word about the sound quality, doesn't even plug it in via AUX. Only said a couple words about how this ugly fucking thing is made of "metal and plastic", supposedly indicating good build quality. Then just tells us to pay 150$ extra and buy some Sony speaker he shilled for at the end. He sounds drunk. All we really get to see is more crossdressing from Linus. Why does ShortCircut exist, if they don't review anything in their "reviews"? They never even bother using most of the features they mention, when it would have taken them a couple minutes extra.

$160 for the mouse and $100 for the mouse pad. It's the best mouse ever made (imo) and they had to pay for a bunch of R&D for the materials to make a mouse this light, so it's understandable. Plus I paid the early adopter fee. The same mouse is $110 now. Logitech G Pro X Superlight. Worth every penny even at the price I paid.

I am doubting the "many regular listeners" quote more than the fact that it was the hosts that decided to kill it rather than Linus in efforts to cut costs. It's dead because it had no listeners/watchers compared to any other LMG channel, just take a look at their viewership https://www.youtube.com/@TheyreJustMovies/videos. Additionally if you look at their socialblade, they very rarely crack even 5K views per day and they havent even gotten 100K views in the past month, even Mac Address which i still consider to be a fairly niche LMG channel is doing 100K+ views per day.

You paid 260 dollars for something that normal people will pay 10-20 dollars for. At least keyboard autism I can understand, that is retarded. Lift some weights nigga
