Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I watched his last video about watercooling his home rack.

I ask myself if he wants to burn/flood and destroy his house down, the setup is extremely janky, shit and duct-tapped. I like to DIY stuff but what he's done is extremely shit and poorly done.

I can't imagine he ever intends to use it, its just another video to showcase his house for taxes. I'm sure his insurance agent would deny any water damage claim as well.

Ah yes, the Pro 2. Am I mad that I've bit the bait wanting to cheap out and am I glad I managed to get a refund for that broken ass piece of shit after a month from purchasing. Piece of shit wouldn't want to connect to my PC OVER USB and it wouldn't want to pair with my Bluetooth dongle. Thankfully now I'm a happy Xbox Series controller owner and it's vastly superior from that 8BitDo piece of shit.

Sorry, I just really fucking hate that controller because of my experiences. Don't cheap out, get an Xbox controller.

Have 3 8bitDos. No pro 2, 2x SN30 pro+ and 1 ultimate. I have had zero issues with them. They're great, especially for the price. They work great with all of my PCs and steam deck. Sucks you got a fucked up one

My 8BitDo controllers also work fine. Better than any first-party controller I've used post 6th gen.

Two Corsair monitors to review; those things are easily gonna retail for more than $1k each.

Linus just casually has the box in his garage.

That Xeneon Flex is easily going to approach if not exceed 2k and it'll be handwaved because it's "innovative".

In reality it's just a big fuck off OLED screen that you can bend (fucking why). 1440p on a 45in that will likely be potitioned only a foot or two from your eye holes is gonna look like shit.

Gotta love the "u jelly lmao" defense in fanboys when you criticize someone for being greedy when they are already loaded. It's always the same, exact, fucking braindead defense, and they do it for free.

Another idiot completely misses the point of critique. OP did not take this post seriously, in fact, he took it for exactly what it is, which is an advertisement, and he referred to the fact of Linus earning money from it while he brags about how rich he is.

It's funny how the same type of people will downplay how much he makes once you point back to the part(s) in his breakdown video where he admits he'd rather review overpriced gaming garbage than raise his own kids.

Linus can have all the money he wants, but he likes to flaunt his wealth more and more as time goes by. How many of his employees own a house? Maybe the canadian market is fucked, or maybe he doesn't pay them enough while he retorofits his entire house with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of tech given to him for free from sponsors; he gives them shitty $5000 sponsored by intel makeovers, so its fine. Imagine any other job where you spend inordinate amount of time working on your bosses home.

These house videos reek of them running out of actual ideas. They have to bounce from sponsor to sponsor to have any content at all as it seems the sponsor comes before the content.

It's not because they don't want to because if most of the bosses could, they would.

"Asking" an employee to do things outside his job on your company is one of the worst things that you can do on a company, if the employee gets harmed or he do something wrong on while doing it and gets fired, this would be an easier way for it to get an extremely big fine and lawsuit.

The thing is that Linus still thinks that he owns a side project on his parents garage and not a multi-million dollar media company, where he shouldn't be doing that

This is 100% low effort shit for clicks. Years ago they did the same fucking thing but actually put some effort into it by bringing in someones step dad plumber to help assemble a system that wasnt comeplete trash;

From what i have been seeing, it is the sponsor that seem to be coming up with the video idea's.
His new video comes off like this. U CAN POWA SNES CONSOLES OVER USB C.
Yes, you can. But there is no depth to the video at all. it is so brief in its overview, that it barely says anything at all. Not even showing a banter session of them fumbling with a retro console power board. It is less of a tech tip, and more of a go google a guide faggot video. With the most obnoxious sponsor plugs yet. Not to mention the danger of doing stuff like this with a lot of old systems having quite large high voltage caps in them for the ac to dc conversion. It is why every guide you will find on the net messing with power supply's tells you how dangerous it is. The only real warning is "You may have to solder".
Then again the video concept is not really that useful to begin with, he mentions powering each system with 1 usb cable to share. Who the fuck is taking their vintage SNES inawoods and up a hiking trail? Where the uses of having less to carry would be good.
If it remains at home the only reason i can think of is that you don't have many power outlets. But it seems like a lot of work when you could go to any store and buy a 10 plug power strip and just use those cable ties you got off Amazon.
Then you have the angle of, you know throwing perfectly good power supply's in to e waste and replacing them with chinkium parts to get the USB supply working. He mentions how cheap the replacement boards are. That is because, they are made up to the latest chink child workers standards.

You're not thinking about this like a millionaire owner of a tech channel and tech influencer.

Gotta shill the merch store reusable cable ties at 1000% markup over Aliexpress.

Joke aside, that video and project are a solution looking for a problem.

He's gonna get someone killed by saying TVs for that USB-C conversion. Anything outside of a 12 port network switch has real power, with a thick 3-prong cord. But TVs, especially older CRTs, those will fucking kill you if you're not careful. It's fine to experiment, but electricity is fucking dangerous, especially anything that plugs into your wall.
