Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

The real value in owning YouTube is owning a website with such power to sway and influence global opinion.
That's something money can't buy. Whatever YT costs Google is seen as a business expense.
The biggest benefit of owning YouTube was that Google could push out Windows Phone. They didn't provide an app for Windows Phone and they sued them for making their own app. And why would consumers buy a phone without YouTube?

The "callout" is something about the Eufy storing photos and sending them to a third party server which is another person being bought off trying to explain how it's totally fine bro trust Chyna bro. Most of the episode is jerking off over some AI script writer which makes half assing real work easier, even though it seems so similar to the generic stuff LTT writes anyway.

In the beginning Linus mentions his home got in floor radiant heating installed recently because it was on a heat pump system and doesn't work in cold weather too much when there's no heat in the air to pull from. Somehow that seems like something you do when the house is being renovated but another tax write off reason it seems.

Supposed tech expert loads his house with thousands of devices that use wifi (light switches and god know what else) and is surprised he has interference problems.

His fix is to spend 10s of thousands on new "smart" switches or god forbid; go back to manual dumb switches.

I wonder if he uses a pihole.

Dude seems that two-faced

I watched it now, the port-fording take is very wrong, you can crawl the entire IPV4 network in 5 minutes(with very special hardware) and about a few hours with an good house internet. That's how hackers hacked a lot of log4j, used a ssh bug last year and others exploits to hack random servers online.

Running things locally isn't easy as linus seems to think but I do agree that eufy is wrong there as a privacy-tard. It's funny that Linus at the same time don't complain that Android and iOS background notification service makes that all your messages goes "unencrypted" to Google/Apple server and I bet that they sell that info but it's ok because they are US companies.

He's talking about twitter where he's getting more engagement recently just proves my point that twitter won't fail as he is saying, everyone wants more engagement/clout.

He doesn't understand the concept of "point of failure." It's why he has that jank ass setup where the computers are in the basement but runs fiber up to his game room. Signal loss, cross-talk, or whatever is beyond him. Also pretty sure he's already done a "this switch doesn't work in my house" video, complete with calling the company and ranting like a spoiled child... because he spent like $10,000 on shit that isn't working. He also doesn't understand testing or anything before dumping cash on an entire setup.

Old tweet that I saw posted in the last image you saved thread (couldn’t archive because on mobile, sorry). More long-time followers of LTT, what the hell is the context here? From the outside looking in, he’s been an oversharing lolcow since 2012.

First James Rolfe’s (AVGN’s) autobiography proudly stating he pissed his own pants, now LTT proudly tweeting he pissed in his own computer chair? Last few weeks have been something of a lolcow piss Olympics (paging @Pissmaster for his expertise on this phenomenon).

Autistics can’t hold in their pee and need to tell the whole world about it, instead of bottling it up and donating it to goodwill like a normal person

I think it's a joke. Look at the shape of the "stain", and look at the shape of the armrest.

Linus complains about his stupid smart shit not working because he won't hire actual contractors who know what they are doing. Proceeds to whine about his in floor radiant heating not working properly. How many of his employees can afford full house in-floor radiant? Let alone afford the bill to run it.

He knows he could fix the problems but refuses to hard wire shit because it must be wireless.

LTT gonna review balldos soon.

What I find more baffling is the lack of research of him and his team.

How someone who wants to automate his home, spent tens of thousands of dollars in switches, panels and more that don't talk to each other, use different protocols or don't have the functionality that he wants and instead of learning and assuming the guilty he blames the company

I call bullshit on the "light switches causing 5ghz interference" thing - it really goes to show his utter incompetence and/or is just an opportunity for him to create another "smart" home series sponsored by Inovelli, the smart home product manufacturer he gives a random shot-out to in both of the recent smart home videos.

Lord knows he burned his bridge with Jasco, the manufacturer of his current switches, by yelling at some old bitty in customer service and making a video shitting on them for what was ultimately just him doing Z-wave wrong in Home Assistant.

He's using Z-wave devices for all of his switches, which operate at a frequency ludicrously far removed from 5ghz.

He even admitted disabling the switches didn't change shit in a pinned comment - though of course left the video unaltered with his "incredible" interference discovery. SmartSelect_20221206_171906_YouTube.jpg

People who know what they are doing usually don't like being filmed.
