Got cancelled, was a boondoggle and use of Chinese technology was subsequently banned.

Also Chinese steel is not to be trusted. It's blacklisted from the AVLs (approved vendor lists) of most companies in my industry for good reason. The only way to guarantee the quality is to have a staff member in China doing spot checks in real time before shipment. They will try and fuck you over.
This is why they are called the Jews of the East.

What happened there is that in NYC when a legislation gets passed, it can be then modified by the politicians before it fully passes, and they can completely fuck a legislation up that way. Louis predicted this, the prediction happened, and then he got so mad he did a livestream drinking vodka and getting mad that people will now use it against him because "durr the legislation passed why would he still be mad?", and I swear, if this thumbnail is not just a drama bait and Linus legitimately thinks Louis wasted his time and that it was his fault then Louis should just completely cut all contact with that cuck.

Yeah, but the finger up and the Rossman name... I understand the context but it could be interpreted as something outside of that context.

A better title would have been "This is not what Louis Rossman wanted" or something like that. Good enough to drive clicks while also making is clear that it isn't what Louis fought for. With how brainless some of Linus' audience is, it's almost guaranteed that not being perfectly clear is going to start unneeded beef.

That's the whole point, it's meant to be taken the wrong way so people get riled up and talk about Linus. I don't know if this is a "any publicity is good publicity" tactic or if he's this much of an attention whore that he gets off to people hating him, especially if he can do a retarded gotcha to prove his superiority.

So a line item veto basically? Figures for new York.

No. Basically what happened is this: (this is only an example of such a process)
Louis "Lets have a right to repair law"
New York State Assembly and State Senate:
1:"WONT ANY ONE THINK OF THE POOR OEMS WHO WILL LOSE MONEY FROM THIS BILL?!"
2: "I will only vote for this bill if we include funding for X in my district" (aka pork barrel)
Now do this for both the Assembly and State Senate during the discussion of the bill if it should be passed or not.

So you end up with "Right to Repair* with pork barrel clauses"
*may not actually protect "right to repair" going to the Governor to sign who then signs, vetos, or lets the bill to rot.

A line item veto would be the Governor saying "I will sign this bill to law but I Veto these specific parts".

Ah, I remembered that, but I never knew the back story. Retarded parents gave their toddlers toys with incredibly small beads in them- 1/5" or 5mm in size- which were marked for 4+ and shouldn't have been sold for use by children at all (given even if they'd been marketed at ten year olds ten year olds often have young siblings).

Children swallowed a bunch of the beads, got sick, they had tiny traces of GBL in them that metabolized to tiny traces of GHB that were picked up on a tox screen because that's something often screened for, shit parents and shitty Western toy marketers blamed the Chinese and 'GHB beads' rather than taking responsibility for practically shoving beads into their 18 month old's mouths.

You can't make all parents responsible or prevent every accident. The Chinese can however choose to not use poison as an ingredient. They just always choose poison even when it comes to food. I'm pretty sure them cooking food in doo-doo oil and going pee-pee in people's Coke is what led to the Second Sino-Japanese War. Very sneaky people.

They talk about some CES stuff but nothing about their CES lack of videos/taking an L on their stupid travel computer, so it must have been more embarrassing than expected.

There's talk about something they're doing with the Lab to be some recommendation for parts while looking on Floatplane or something at 47:40, essentially a trust us bro with part picking via Labs tests. This is touted like something big but it just seems like it will be whoever pays off LTT the most, even though Linus says the first rule is to be completely objective. Yeah right.

The interesting topic is at 2:22:50 where a person asks the question of "if you could go back in time 10 years knowing what you know now would you?" and Luke slaps Linus' moralfagging about going back and making a lot of money via bitcoin by saying "well yeah, you're already rich" and doesn't back down on that point, and then Linus squirms as he tries to pretend he's down with the struggle.

So what happened with that video they were gonna put out about buying a used mining gpu?

Also, does it seem like Anthony has been relegated to the unboxing channel? I haven't seen him show up on LTT or TechLinked in a while.

Wtf would that even be about? Showing that used cards are still fine??? I mean, I know that there are somewhat pervasive myths that mining kills cards, but most industrial scale miners aren't retards and take good care of an investment they intend to use indefinitely. They've already done at least one video showing how video cards don't magically slow down with age. What a stunning conclusion! Used video cards still work! Real revolutionary investigative journalism from Linus & Co.

What would have wore out anyway? I no longer care about building a performance or gaming PC, so why would it matter if the video card was operated at max power forever. I would expect any OEM to stress test their designs at performance corner cases.
